How many of you guys have wives who shoot or hunt as well? My wife bow hunts, but never with a trad bow. After I got into it, she decided she wanted a recurve. We ordered her a Samick with 30 lb limbs yesterday. Her DL is only about 25'' so I think that will be a good weight for her to start out with. She knows it won't be enough poundage to hunt with, but we'll see how it goes and maybe by the season after this one coming up she can pull a little more weight and actually hunt with it. I'm just excited she wanted to try it!!
My wife loves shooting 3D but not in to hunting anyone.

No, mine doesn't shoot the bow or hunt. She won't even go walk in the woods. Bummer!
My wife shoots, and very well when she practices regularly. Sometimes goes for roves with me, too. Doesn't hunt though.
My wife has started to shoot agian. I like that, more days at the range, more arrows I can make, being together. No, she doesn't hunt.
Mine did until she broke her arm.
My wife used to shoot with me. Not since our daughter was born almost 16yrs ago.
My wife hunts and shoots both. She also has about a 25" draw. The couple bows she shoots are 40# at her draw. Sometimes I have to scratch my head as to the luck she has when it comes to hunting. I have been at work many times and have her send me pics of her and game. Apparently I have took her to to many of my honey holes.lol
My better half started to shoot about 2 1/2 years ago......she does not hunt but like to do 3-D and stump shooting. She went to Compton and to the Baltimore shoots with me and we had a ball. She is getting to be a good shot.
My wife shoots once and awhile, but doesn't hunt.
My wife blows the dust off her longbow when we go to ETAR every year. That's the only time she shoots but she does great.
My wife now teaches horseback archery for a local Girl Scout camp. Here she is at her certification clinic in Texas last November.

Just got my wife and custom Flatline Hypertensions longbow just this past March .
When we shoot cold she usually out shoots me . But after about 10 shots or so , she starts to get tired and she starts spreading her shots all over the backstop .
It's great enjoyment shooting with her .
We got started with wheel bows and I got serious into traditional this year. She seen how much fun I've been having at 3D shoots so now she has mike Miller at crooked stic bows making her a 30# longbow now. I can't wait to shoot more with her
My wife shoots and hunts. While she shoots wheel bows now-a-days, she did shoot longbows and took whitetails with that equipment. Generally, she out shoots me whether with bows or guns.
My wife shoots only the foam animals.....has no desire to hunt.
My wife has no desire to hunt with trad equipment, but she is deadly with a rifle or compound. She recently tried shooting my longbow and recurves with me and enjoyed it, so I found a used bow for her that fits her a little better so she can goof off in the yard with me and the kids.
My wife shoots with me quite often and is a very active and successful hunter. Shoots trad with me sometimes, but Hunts with everything except trad gear.
My wife enjoys 3D shoots and this season tried her hand trad hunting turkeys.
Here she is at the Poke and Hope shoot in Maine.

Cool to see that so many ladies are involved too. Mine loves to hunt, so we'll see how it goes. I'm sure she will still hunt with a rifle or her other bow this year, but maybe by next year she will be ready.
My wife adopted a "can't beat 'em join 'em" attitude. Final straw for her was me camping with the kids at a 3-d shoot and her having to just walk along! Only hiccup now is when I try to offer form advice... ;)

My Wife hunts and shoots with a great Northern Lil Creep..she loves the longbow, and has the patience of a saint and the stealth of a cat..she heads off to her stand, and I swing thru and pick her up at dark. She climbs like a squirrel , and hates heights!
She killed a nice 8 pointer last fall, and she was pumped.
I can drop her in the middle of the Adirondacks, and she will always be waiting for me at our predetermined meeting place, she can orient herself in the woods, and I never have to worry about her.]}} its great having a partner to share this stuff with.
My wife shot an arrow while we were engaged and she never put down a bow since. While attending the Muzzy Stump shoot she got to know Michelle Eichler and Michelle actually convinced her to hunt telling her that if she did not want to shoot an animal no law said she had to. Her first kill was a black bear and she has taken several deer as well. Here she is with her last kill. She shoots a DAS Gen I riser with Morrison Super Short Max I limbs, 44# at 26" and shoots 500 spine Axis shafts and 200 grain Razorcaps.

Heck Graps. You only got her last March. Give her a chance. :biglaugh:
It's cool that there are so many ladies that are into it as well. Mine loves to hunt, so I have no doubt she will. It's just a matter of her working up to a little more draw weight and getting proficient.
I hit the jackpot with this one. Loves shooting, hunting,fishing..just being in the outdoors.

It's a dream of mine to have my wife and all 4 kids bowhunting all on the same day together with longbows I made for them.
My wife hunts a few times a year with a .243 for deer but not yet with a bow, someday maybe.
Matt:
She is a nice lady and a lot of fun on the 3D range.
Mine does, hunts too! She's currently leading the buckle series at our archery club by a landslide! (http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f43/wachatz/0506161143_zpsfqxc3wvt.jpg) (http://s44.photobucket.com/user/wachatz/media/0506161143_zpsfqxc3wvt.jpg.html)
My wife likes to shoot as well, however I'm finding out she is very competitive. She would like to hunt but has a low tolerance for cold. Tried to post a photo but I have no idea how to make it work.
My wife is wicked on the 3D range!

Put her in a ground blind with a Mr Buddy heater.
I met my wife at an indoor league that she helped form. She was previously a sponsered compound competitor. She has hunted with me, but when grandkids came along, she dropped everything to be a Nana. Between us, we have 10 grandkids, so she's been busy. Now that most are school age, I'm hoping to get her back in the woods. She loves deer hunting, and going to South Texas to chase javelina. She loves her Bob Lee recurves, which are between 46-48 pounds.
My wife shooting the new BBO bow I just made her.

My wife likes to shoot and is great on the 3D range, she doesn't have any interest in hunting and that is fine with me, just happy she likes to shoot.
My wife's bow got here yesterday. She didn't get off work until 7, and I work 4-midnight so I didn't get to shoot with her. She said she shot until her arms hurt though so I guess she's enjoying it. Maybe this evening I'll have a chance to shoot with her and get some pics depending on how my shift goes. Sometimes I can come home at supper, sometimes not. We'll see!!

She doesn't hunt, but likes to go to 3D events with me.
