Got my first animal with traditional tackle today. This little bear came in to 10 yards and gave me a perfect shot oppurtunity. All of my practice paid off and I hit him in the 10 ring. He ran 40 yards and bolted up a 40' poplar tree where he died and fell to the ground a few seconds later. I was using my Hoyt gamemaster with ce heritage classics and Magnus stinger 2 blades. I'm still elated that I got a bear with the recurve.

Very nice!
Very nice! Not too many things are more rewarding than making a clean shot instinctively!
Wow! Congrats!!! There's nothing like killing something with trad gear!!
Very cool! Congrats!
Harvesting an animal with trad gear is an accomplishment...
Hitting an animal where you want is an even greater feeling!
Congratulations - great first traditional harvest in every way!
Thanks guys. I had the sun at my back and I watched the arrow rotate all the way to its mark and watched it zip through to stick in the ground on the other side. It's an image that will stick with me for a very long time. I've never experienced life in slow motion like that.
Very cool, congrats!
That's really great! Wonderful job. You have a beautiful memory of that arrow flying home. Congratulations on your bear.
Best regards, Chase
Well done, Andy, and the trad journey starts.

Thanks! It's a 45# bow. My draw is 28". The arrow blew through him and stuck about 6" in the dirt on the off side.
Thanks for all the responses. It was truly an incredible experience. I killed my first bear last year but used a rifle and I vowed that the next one would be with a bow.

Nice job!
Pretty cool first!
Well done sir. You reckon they often seek a tree for refuge after being shot? Very interesting.
Well I've never seen it before in real life or on hunting shows but my bear hunting experience is fairly limited.
Congrats on your first kill.
