Today, while shooting a field round, I stopped to photograph my bow. Since we all share this wonderful passion, I thought it would be fun to show pictures of bows we own, used to own or want to own. You know, all for the love of our bows!

Wayne, did you do those splices? They are very handsome.
Dennis, I'm not overly enamored with TD longbows but that one is an exception. What is the length of it?
yup did them myself. many thanks.
and i love shooting the kenny m design- its great!
Very nice Wayne! That Kenny bow is top notch! You can't improve on a perfect design! I don't even try. Just keep building em!
I've shown it a bunch on here lately, but I can't say enough good things about my new Black Widow! PCH, and I love it!

I have a KennyM design, 64" and 48# @28". Got it in the bow swap a couple years ago. A nice bow and a pleasure to shoot. Loaned it to my grandson and I'm reconciled myself to never getting it back. :(

Beauteous, Andrew!
very nice!! :)
thanks
My favorite bow, not because of the looks, but because of the story behind it. My father cut the wood in the bow, walnut limbs and birdseye maple riser, in the late 40's, when he was a gunsmith. The wood was cut into gunstock blanks and was my bed until I was about 10 years old (we lived in a very small travel trailer). I talked to Chuck at Two Tracks and he agreed to make one of his Echo ASL longbows from the wood. Intentionally a very plain bow, he did a superb job making "Dad's Bow".

SELFBOW, that Echo is anything but plain. One of the nicest longbows I've ever seen. Cool story, too.
I have not hunted this one yet but it is a sweet shooting bow and likes Snag's 65/70 Surewoods. Bought it from a friend I originally met st Stickflingers. A Rampart 3 piece longbow 54#, 54@28". My best shooting is with my Old Hatfield. I ordered this new from a local sporting goods store years ago.

Thanks, Damon, and Dennis. Not many people can say their bed was made into a bow.
Heres my two favorites. First up is my first custom bow. It's an RD longbow from Flatwoods Custom Bows. Walnut limbs with bamboo cores. Jatoba riser with walnut/bamboo accents. 64" and 47@28".

(http://i1246.photobucket.com/albums/gg614/tomsm44/image_2.jpg) (http://s1246.photobucket.com/user/tomsm44/media/image_2.jpg.html)
The other is one I recently traded for. It's a Hoots custom 'Lil Hoot recurve. Not sure the woods exactly, but it looks like red elm outer lams and bamboo cores under clear glass for the limbs and maybe cocobolo or something along those lines for the riser. It's 56" and 42@28". I got it for my wife to shoot since none of my bows really fit her, but after shooting it myself, I'm planning on getting some use out of it as well. It's a great shooter, and pound for pound it's the fastest bow I have. Easily as fast if not a little faster than the one listed above shooting the same arrows.

A new acquisition - Javaman Elkheart. A beauty to shoot and to look at. Tamo ash veneers.
I shot and hunted with numerous bows over the years but always seem to come back to my Martin Hunter.

I enjoy spending time with bows and then sending the overwhelming majority on their way. One that stands out in my mind is an impeccable 1967 LH Kodiak Magnum I got in a trade with Denny Sturgis. I have had and shot many KMags of all vintages for over 40 years and I'm generally not a big fan, but this particular bow was as pretty as a new puppy and more fun roving in the woods than ought to be legal. This bow was lost on the target range but came alive in the woods...like a good bird dog. We spent a fantastic month together and then I sent her on her way to spread her magic. Wherever she is now, an archer has a big grin on his/her face. (http://i.imgur.com/QhOlwfU.jpg)
The most special bow I own is the one Gregg made me last year after I was fortunate to win his 2015 St Jude bow auction. The campfire bow....

Although the black material in an ACS CX riser looks like it is phenolic it is actually machined fiberglass

Although I'm currently scratching a Hill style itch and shooting an ASL my "sweetheart" bow is my Dwyer Original.
Limbs are action boo with working yew lams that look like fire back and belly. Riser is cocobolo with wenge arch. 66" and 48@28 it's just a smooth shooting comfortable bow with a sleek profile. I've had other Originals which I liked but this bow just shoots best.

Selfbow, wonderful story about your bow! Very special. Chuck did an outstanding job with it.
NBK, I like that Original! Really good looking bow.
