Steve
Not too far from me so I may try to come.
This is a great shoot I will be there two days do some camping. Widow
drew, I need a little more info...location of the shoot, type of camping?...are restrooms and water available?...etc....coming from New Jersey....any info would help, to make a decision....thanks
Bob
Do a search of Greencastle Sportsmans. Excellent course, great primitive camping. Water available and portajons in the camping area.
Should be at least 10 of us from the western end of the state coming out for the weekend.
Awesome. I've been looking for a trad shoot in PA.
I'm in Bushkill,should be about a 2 hr drive.
Hope to make it.
I did this one for the first time last year. It was as nice as the Baltimore shoot, with way less shooters. I hope to make it again this year.
Maybe my lost arrows are still there waiting for me to reclaim....
First class people and first class courses!
Great shoot. I will be there for the weekend.
Great shoot and in my home town! Not one to miss!!
TTT we definitely need to get this one on the map. Hoping some of our Trad Gang peers that made the Baltimore shoot from Pa. Maryland, WV, Va. and NJ could at least make a day. Would be nice to see these guys rewarded for their efforts. We will be there at least one day. I know it's a tough weekend but ya really need to check it out.
Hopefully i will make it, heard nothing but good things about this shoot.
Hey SCS, sorry i didn't get to shoot with you at Baltimore. I only shot one course and it was a lil rough since i am starting to get back to shooting...dang shoulder problems. If i make it down we will shoot a course!
Andrew (drew504)...sent you a PM.
Thanks...Matt
Shot this Shoot a couple of years ago! More shooting than you can imagine... 76 targets plus all the ariels you want to shoot..!!Great Courses.....And pretty cheap for sure! Beautiful sprawling grounds...... I'm guessing that it kind of gets caught in Baltimores jet wash...???? Plus it's on Memorial Day weekend!... .However, I'm amazed that there are not 300 shooters to this, it's really that good...........jackdaw
Gary, no problem. We'll catch up at another one
Steve
I cant wait. Ill have off work on Memorial Day so Im going then.
Drew504, Do you have the address? So I can Map it.
Stalker if you search Greencastle Sportsmans Association I believe you can find an address and click on the archery tab to check out the shoot. info. Hope this helps.
I'll be there...

Thought I'd better "TTT" this thread since it's getting shuffled out of sight...right SCS?
Already dropped 28 spots since your post.
Anybody that can make this shoot should try to find some time over the weekend. You won't be disappointed.
Steve
Roger and I will be there at 9.
Thought you were going for the weekend. See ya Sunday.
Any interest in novelty type shooting? More moving targets? Water jug race?
Planning on being there all day Sunday.
TTT will be there Saturday.
Sounds like the weather is going to cooperate for the hard work these guys do.Let's keep this up top.TTT
Gonna be hot, but it's good to see they are no longer calling for thunderboomers!
I will try to be there saturday
Boy what a nice place! Got there at 10:00 and left around 3:25 or so. Only shot the first 36 targets. It was a little toasty, especially in the sun. Good eats at reasonable prices! Met Widow SAX as I was driving through the camping area; had a nice conversation.
This event has SO much potential it's not funny. I will definitely go back in the years to come and I'll bring a friend or two with me. And I only lost/damaged two arrows today! Not too bad I guess for only having shot for about ten days now!
I shot all 3 courses, the foam discs, and the bison. Im exhausted. What a blast! Great targets, well managed courses, and great facilities. This place has it all. Heading back tomorrow.
Leave something for Monday
Im still at the shoot! This is my first time here and im having a blast, what a great shoot !!!!! 3 courses with over 70 targets, great setting, and $20 for the weekend doesn't get any better then this. This shoot deserves more shooters and if you missed out or haven't made it...make a point to get here next year. A big thanks to Greencastle Sportsman Club for a great shoot and i'll be back next year for for sure...Gary
Gary, I miss going to this shoot since it's one of the best around but life got in the way this weekend. Sat. was two grandson's baseball games and dinner at daughter's house. Sunday was a local shoot since I had to be back early. Monday is my wife's birthday and I didn't feel right leaving her all day to shoot. I plan to take her to dinner with Bill and his wife Monday evening.
Hayslope, where the heck have you been hiding?
Rich
You need to get those grandsons out on the 3D course and have the wife out there pulling butts:) Whose in charge at your house. You missed a good time.
Shot the full course 75 targets twice.
I'm still here but pulling out this morning to try and beat the holiday traffic for the 3 hour drive back to SW Pa.
The courses here are the best I've ever seen.
Went Sunday shot over 100 targets it was awesome! Great people, facility, and course. They do it right. It just is a nice place.
Wild Bill
When we left this morning, Sue told me they had 150 shooters. Most ever!
Another great weekend. I don't think you can find a nicer venue.
Only bad part is I had to put up with Roy all weekend:^P
I'll never follow you up there again, Bobby. Your short cut added 45 minutes and turning around twice in a cow manure packed pasture with a 27 foot trailer in tow was the last straw. But Chris and I laughed our butts off.
Rich wish you could have made it, always a pleasure to shoot with an expert archer!!! Oh and a good friend! Sounds like you had a busy weekend and yes you have to keep the miss's happy. Tell Bill i said hi...Gary
Made it up there this morning since I had the day off. I guess since today was Memorial Day, there were fewer people there than I expected to see, though that does make for a quiet stroll through the target courses.
This was my first event, and as far as I am concerned, the courses and facilities were top notch.
I tried aerial archery for the first time, as luckily someone loaned me his fluflus. I didn't connect with the targets, but I did come very close several times. And the chance to shoot my bow a long distance, at the buffalo, was nice, as I had not actually seen the full cast of my bow before. I put a few under the buffalos chin and belly, but didn't make contact. I managed to loose just one arrow, so I guess I cant complain, though it always sucks when that happens.
I hope to make it back up there next time.

Having a high-powered bird dog seems to take up way too much of my time. I did make it to Greencastle on Saturday. Lots of folks there, but I missed all the usual suspects!!
Hope everything has been OK with you and yours!
