Colorado Traditional Archers Society High Country Shoot is about a month away. Six ranges, all Rinehart targets, novelty shoots, vendors, kitchen, raffles, trade blanket, great camping and a gorgeous location in elk country. One of the best shoots in the country, make that the world. Just an all around good time. Check the website for more info and registration form. :archer2:

Went last year had a blast one of the best I've ever been to. You can bet I'll be back this year. Hoping to see a ton of Trad Gang folks there.
-
Selway will be making our first trek out this year! Looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great time!
-
Tracey and I had a great time at the Banquet in February. We are planning on a trip out there next for this. Wish we could swing it this year.
-
It's not looking like it for me this year, and I hate that! Best shoot I've ever been to, and I will be back - hopefully 2017!
-
The wife and I are taking the whole week off and taking the trailer. We are going to camp a day or two along the way in the CO highcountry. That didnt come out right, we won't be high :biglaugh:
-
I had plans to go this year with my brother. But I accepted another job last month, so no vacation at that time.
-
I plan on attending for the first time this year. Afterwards a side trip to scout for this years elk hunt. Need to get my preregistration in soon.
-
My friends and I had a great time at the High Country Shoot last year! I'm really looking forward to this years shoot. I loved the location and the variety of ranges.
-
It will be here before you know it.
-
Thanks fo letting us know...I was not aware of this event
-
Who else is going? We have over 500 shooters, there must be more TGers going.
-
I'm in! hopefully I can get there early and help out.
-
I'll be there for sure!

Hey Charley Brown, if I figure out some way to make it up there for this shoot, we need to meet up and shoot a round!
Bisch
-
I cannot make it this year, but I have every intention of going next year!! Take plenty of pictures!!
-
Black Widow Bows is making the trip. Cant wait to smell those pines.
-
We'll be set up in there some where everyone feel free to stop by we'll go fling some arrows together.
Anyone else from Kansas going?
-
Not this year :( we will see what next year brings. Best shoot bar none!!
-
Headed up early to help, registration in the mail. See you up there Mark. Tom
-
I may have spoke too soon. A change of plans has put this one back on the table for me. Hope to be in the High Country next month!
-
Whip I hope you and your wife can make it out!
Bisch you need to make it to this shoot. Nothing like 500+ like minded people in the heart of the best mountain views to set the stage for a great fun-filled week.
I can not wait for this shoot!
-
Going with McMiller and will meet up with Whip
-
Taking Friday off this year...see ya there!
-
I should be there...
-
Bisch, you need to make it up and would be glad to shoot some targets with ya!
-
Looking forward to it again. Great shoot and lots of cool toys to check out
-
Wish I could be there this year, this was always one of the high points of summer for me.
Looking at Sept. Just can't do two trips a year.
-
Is there a vendor list available? I need to know how much money to bring. I'm sure there will be some cool stuff to ogle over or jump on.
-
3 weeks away. I will see if I can track down a vendor list.
-
Ok, here is what we have for vendors at the moment. There will be more as some of our regulars aren't on the list yet (RMSG, DayOne Camo,......).

I am assuming that there will be plenty of room to pitch a tent at the shoot, right?
-
Lots of camping room with great mountain scenery.
-
-
My mother-in-law is up in age and my wife will want to be in contact with her. How is the phone reception?
-
Where would I fly in?
-
Closest is Grand Junction, but very doable from Denver as well, and probably a lot cheaper.
I could throw a tent, bag, & sleeping pad in for ya'!
-
Gordon, I'm with Verizon and reception is spotty. I can usually find a high spot to make a call. But when you call you have to make sure the party on the other end knows you can lose the call at any time so you have to get the business talked about quick.

I'll let you know! I'm looking at some things at work tomorrow and I'll see. A flight to Denver is half as much as Grand Junction. So if I make it that would be my plan.
-
Thanks 4dogs, I was afraid the phone coverage was poor.
-
Well, it is a definite that I will not be able to make this one this year. We have a big IBO shoot here that got postponed due to all the flooding down here, and is rescheduled for the same weekend.
Y'all have fun! Maybe next year for me?
Bisch
-
Sorry to hear that, Bisch!
I'm in!
Booked a flight and mailed my registration today.
-
Should be another good one this year.
-
I just registered. Don't know if my wife will make it as she has a training class that week. If not, it will be easier to buy more stuff--as long as I can sneak it home!
Mike
-
Glad you are going to make it Mike. Just about a week away.
-
Hey Kadbow: Have you got an updated vendor list? Thanks.
-
Have fun you guys there,I for sure will miss it.
-
Well looks like I wont make it after all. Family emergency so y'all have fun. I'll see you next year.
-
Hoping to get over there for a day. Fingers crossed!
-
Looking forward to meeting some of my western brothers-of-the-bow. I'll be wearing Traditional Bowhunters of Florida shirts. Introduce yourselves! :archer2:
-
Plan to leave midday on Thursday. Not quite as early as I'd hoped but "better late than never".
homebru
-
I was up setting courses the last couple days. Bring sunscreen, bug spray (they weren't too bad) and lots of arrows.
-
I'll be up Thursday evening, we have a group of 6 coming up from south central Colorado for the weekend. Any lefties interested in doing some bow trading, come see me at the trading blanket on Saturday morning!
-
My wife and I will be up on Wednesday. I didn't think about the trading blanket, maybe I will bring a extra selfbow or two
-
Were not going to be able to make it, have to many things to take care of here for the next few weeks. Hate to miss it again.
Mike
-
Surewood Shafts and Liberty Bow will be leaving tomorrow. See you there Steve
-
Traditions Leathercraft is pulling out at 04:00 tomorrow morning and heading up to the mountains for this shoot.
Lord willing I should be set up sometime on Thursday. Drive safe everyone!
-
See you up there!
-
Travel safe folks!, see ya up there!
-
Just got home. Over 600 shooters. Great weather and got to meet a few new TradGangers. Great time!
-
How in the world did you guys get the targets in and out of the 3-arrow challenge?
Great job by every one that put on the shoot!
Thanks!
-
It was a Big Time fer sure
-
Any pics?
-
Many thanks to those that made this happen. We had the time of our lives. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper: :archer2:

That was the best High Country Shoot ever. 603 trad shooters showed up and 13 pre-registered no-shows. I noticed an increase in kids participating this year. The future looks bright for traditional archery.
The 3 Arrow Challenge course was insane. 45 degree up and down shots in heavy timber. Better not miss or you'd never find your arrow. Glad I had my son with me to retrieve our arrows. Thank you to all of the great vendors who set up booths.

Wow what a great turnout! Wish I could have made it.
Will put it on my calendar for next year......
-
It was our biggest turnout ever and I also noticed a lot more kids this year. The 3 arrow challenge is always a fun range. Post pics if you have some.
-
This sounds like a good shoot. Too bad our bowhunter rendezvous is the same weekend every year
-
Lots of families with young shooters. Looks like the future of traditional archery is in good hands.

Outstanding shoot with a variety of courses and ranges. The 3 arrow shoot was brutal, not so much for shot difficulty, but just walking the course and retrieving arrows. It was well worth the 9 hour drive. Thanks to all for putting it on.

Great job by every one that put on the shoot!
Thanks!
Several young, strong backs with the agility to match, including CTAS board members and volunteers. A big thanks to all the exuberant and dedicated folks who helped set up and tear down those ranges!!
-
Young? Steve is around 60 and he carried in the goat for the 3 arrow, I am mid 50's and carried in targets and set targets for shots. Us middle aged guys pitched in as well as youngsters. What a great shoot. I have pictures on my new camera but had to order a cable to download them, hope to have some pictures up in a few days.
Great shoot well worth the vacation time and travel. I made ash arrows just for the 3-arrow challenge... good thing.
-
Thanks to the CTAS Board for putting on a great shoot. The amount of time and work you guys put in is unbelievable. Great turnout!

Vendors filled in. I spent a bunch and it was great, of course I saved up, or I would have been miserable with all that was offered.

GREAT shoot! The CTAS did an outstanding job and this event ran like a well oiled machine. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope to make a return trip.
That's me in the center with the black shirt with my hands on my hip hoping that all my arrows are sticking straight up because I certainly didn't hit that 120 yard deer target...
Thanks for posting the picture, Jack!

Here's the Wisconsin Delegation that let me hang out with them at the shoot. Those "found arrow buckets" got fuller and fuller as the weekend progressed.
