This is another newb question but how do I know if I can put fast flight strings on my new bow. It's a checkmate crusader reflex deflex design and I can see there is some reinforcing on the limb tips. I can't tell what it is but looks like micarta. I would like the speed gain but if I have to stick to b50 it's no big deal.
Also will switching to fast flight change my spine at all? I'm showing s slight stiff tear and was thinking ff might correct this before I get heavier points.

If you make or get a FF string that has padded loops you can put it on anything. The speed gain will be minimal.

Really? I was expecting 10 fps or so. Am I way out to lunch?

ask your bowyer if you want to maintain any warranty or ability for him to fix it if something fails. If you dont care about that many will tell you to use fast flight on anything you want no matter if 1966 Browning or 2016 Stalker...just pad the loops.
When in doubt go to the bowyer....or just do it as it is your money.

After some deliberation I ordered some b55 string. The longevity of this beauty is more important to me than a few fps that won't make me a better Archer anyway.

A Checkmate Crusader has reinforced limb tips and can handle all string materials.I shoot a low stretch string on all my longbows. And I don't shoot it for any speed increase,I shoot it for the feel. The bows feels more solid and not springy like dacron can sometimes feel.

I think 10 fps would be very optimistic.....maybe 4-6 fps would be the norm.

Agreed that 10 fps is on the high end, but some bows do achieve it. That's the equivalent of 5# of draw weight.
I put padded loop low stretch strings on all my bows, including vintage bows. Not only does it increase the speed, it reduces limb vibration/hand shock. Does tend to be a little higher pitch in the noise category though.
