Title: Gaining Confidence Little by Little
Post by: DHOWARD on May 12, 2016, 08:16:00 PM
Thanks to YouTube videos, reading tradgang advice, and observing archers that are much better than myself I have improved my shooting ability emensly over the past month.  I've only been shooting traditional for seven months now and I have had good days and extremely bad days    but no consistency.  After finding a good anchor point, changing to a tab, and developing a solid shot sequence I have started shooting arrow busting groups at 10yds and respectable groups all the way out to 30yds. I do still have that    :knothead:  shot every once in a while, but not as often as I did just one month ago.  Today I decided I would shoot a couple groups to document my improvement.  Below I have included a 3 arrow  group from 12yd and an 11 arrow group from 26yds.    :)   One day I hope to shoot as consistent and accurate as some of you guys.

If you haven't already started? Its time to start stump shooting... When I started (2.5yrs) I did the same as you, worked on my form, anchor, release for 7-8 months.. Once I moved away from the target, and started stump shooting/ roving the woods my confidence grew! Enjoy the journey!

Looking good, Dammion!  Took me a heck of a lot longer than seven months to get to that point.  It's addictive!!!  Best of luck!!!

You are shooting very well for a person so new to archery. You are quite justified in feeling more confident. Just keep working, and, as already stated, keep it fun.  Get some judo points and hit the woods. Stump shooting will do wonders for your ability to make hits from unknown ranges. Plus, it adds greatly to the fun factor.
