With the St. Jude's auction inching ever closer, there may be some people who aren't sure what to put up.
Here's a question:
What is your favorite type of item? The one you are most likely to bid on.
Maybe its bows, arrows, hunting gear, trips, local items, handmade items?
Mine, without a doubt, is bows. Love to see the bows that come up in the auction. I've bid on several, won a couple.
Also enjoy seeing the trips come up.
I can never be sure of getting time off when I want it, so trips are a pipe dream for me. I love handmade items, and around here, bows, arrows, knives and quivers are often in that genre!
There are many talented folks here. And a lot of pretty bows...

Boots, gloves, arm guards, books, knives, Knife sharpeners, home made maple syrup, quivers, clothing, and trips have all been shipped my way from St. Jude participants on this site. What a great way to spend your money on items you want and benefit a good cause as well. Get ready folks its gonna be a good time for sure. :clapper:
Pound Cakes!
Archery club t-shirts from faraway places are my favorite...get use out of them all year 'round.
I'm with Ron, Pound Cake and cookies have been some of the best! But I've also been the lucky bidder on a number of trips of a lifetime, and treasure the memories and friendships made on those.
Oh, and yeah, hand made or unique items are high on the list. Or hunting, camping or fishing gear.
Heck, I guess when it comes down to it, I'll bid on just about anything!
Yep....I really enjoyed the days when 2 dozen cookies went for 6 THOUSAND dollars.....
Then the next year a little girl's pound cakes when for 7 THOUSAND dollars.....
Please remember...you can just about donate anything...one guy one year even donated a custom built entertainment cabinet....ya never know...and you never know what something might bring....
Love all the items but this year hunting trips are top of the list to bid on.
Gabe
And I was pretty impresses with the $1200 we raised for our Sockrsblurs cookies last year!!!!
I was not around for the pound cakes, but it sounds kinda cool!!!!
I like the hunts the best.
Bisch
Yup Bisch...the pound cake days were ridiculously fun. It was as much fun (it seemed) for the teams going at each other as it was to watch from the stands.
For me, all the hunting trips and knives get good long looks.
Yeah....the Corporation and MLK was started on the cookies...then the next year they jumped on the Pound Cakes...really a lot of fun watching them go at it......
HMMM, my wife makes a KILLER Whoopie Pie cake. I will check and see if she will be willing to make one.
I like things with stories behind them. Sometimes that's handmade items, sometimes its trips, sometimes its just rare production items. I get kind of sentimental about my hunting though.
I like the ones that I can't afford to keep up with. Cuz it means more $ for the kids!
And for you guys with a sweet tooth, I will be donating my (soon to be) famous "Fat Boy Brownies". For references, ask stabow and crittergitter (last year's winners) what they thought of them....
To honestly answer the original question, though, I'm kinda like Whip. I like all kinds of stuff and am liable to bid on anything my modest budget will allow.
I like to bid on the hidden overlooked treasures. most of the knives and bows and tasty treats go way out of my price range but broadheads and do dads get my attention.
Whatever I bid on this year must be small or edible as my house is going on the market in a week or two and everything I have is in storage. we've worked hard on emptying the house.
Or I will go another route and do what a fellow TG'er did last year and bid on a drum for a shish ton of money and then have it send to the next highest bidder.
Some of the finest people I know, I met through Trad gang.
