Elk draw results are posted. I hope you have better luck than I did
I struck out also.
No luck either for KY. This will hopefully be different for CO :-))
Me and all my buddies struck out. I'm just waiting on September now to chase whitetails. :archer2:
Was not fortunate this year, however I am most hopeful that some of our Trad Gang brothers and sisters are gifted an opportunity.
Well its a NO for me. I checked three times.
Goose egg for me too.
A no for me as well.
No for me also
I drew a cow tag finally. Time to get busy and figure out where to hunt.
ICG land had a lot of elk 3 years ago.
arrowbuster...congrats...may you experience the best of success.
Fantastic Bill, best of luck. Please let us know how your hunt(s) go.
Wow!!! After reading this and seeing the results were in I went to the site and checked, I got a cow archery tag!!! Been puting in every year since it began and finally it worked out.
I did not draw either! Good luck to those who did draw!
Richard (Warden609), looks like it will have to be next year for us to meet up!

The website says it will be May 15th before they post up results?
Mine said the 13th but then others started talking about it being posted so I checked again and it is available.

You just stay in touch brother!!
I drew a cow tag. First ever elk tag!!! Got a lot to figure out now. Good luck everybody!
For you guys that have drawn, how long do you have to purchase your license and tag?
Notta
Chris, I don't think you would have to purchase any of that until right before you hunt. But you will have to put in for a limited entry area before July. This is first I have been drawn but my daughter got drawn for a rifle tag 3 years ago.
Thanks arrowbuster, I'm neck deep in Internet research right now. Probably won't be able to sleep tonight.. Gonna be long wait till October!
Check out the International Coal Group, when I pulled a tag a few years ago you just printed off a slip signed it and mailed it back and that opened up thousands of acres to hunt. If you can get that area I can show you where the elk were.
Biathlonman, the ICG land you speak of, that's in the Hazard LEA correct?
Congrats to those who drew a tag.
I placed 10 appls for family and friends and none of us were lucky this season.
Glad all fees go to manage the herd.
Thanks to the KY F&W for the opportunity.
So the newbie is going to ask a question here. It is a dream of mine to pursue elk in the near future. I am in graduate school for another year and then may start applying for these lottery states. My question mainly is, is there a good source of information for what to do IF I pulled a tag? I have zero experience with elk, Kentucky, Colorado, etc so I wouldn't know where to begin. Any online sources or books you would recommend?
Some states have on-line "Elk Hunting Universities" developed and informed by biologist/hunters in the know. KY and CO both have these. Great places to start and end.
Congratulations to those that drew, I didn't. :(
