Hey everyone! So I've been a member for a while but have never posted because I usually just enjoy learning from reading the other posts, but now I have a question.
I want to develop a heavier arrow for my recurve, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. College doesn't allow me to buy tester packs and I need to figure out how to get the dynamic spine correct without playing around too much. Are there calculators out there that will allow me to do this? My bow is pulling 53# at my 28" draw.
Do you have an arrow that shoots well out of the bow now? If so, let's take it and put it into Stu's calculator and then reverse engineer a heavier arrow of the same dynamic spine.

Wingnut has it. It really depends on the shaft material you want to use. I favor 3 Rivers Archery's arrow calculator, its free, and its easy to use. If high FOC is your goal, and funds are tight, I'd steer you to carbon shafts. Wood makes a heavy arrow is overall weight is the goal. More info on your end-state is needed im afraid. Bear in mind, on here and anywhere else people will only get you close. Tip weight and brace height tunning will probably get you where you want to be.
Ash makes a heavy grained shaft. I have been building some that come in the 700 grains total. I'm shooting them out of a 50# super kodiak.
The arrows I'm using are called hunters. They are random brand I found at the local shop, that are cheap but fly well. They are 400 spine out of my bow. Wingnut, does that help?
