Any suggestions? I've always shot with a glove and I love my glove. But with the warmer weather it does get a little sweaty at times. So I thought id give it a try. Not all gloves are created equal and I figure tabs are the same way. I prefer something a little thick because of an old injury to my middle finger. I shoot split finger.
When I was experimenting with tabs the one I liked the best was the one Rod Jenkins sells. Very comfortable and well made.
I use the Saunders Pak-Tab.
Bisch
I really like the Neet tabs (slick leather or hair)with the cushioned finger spacer. Been shooting 'em forever, tried others but keep on shooting the Neets. I get them from The Footed Shaft and I believe they're a great tab at a great price...
Rando
my favorite so far is the neet cordovan tab. only $9 and very comfortable. It is the only one I have really liked thus far.
I have smaller hands and I can't stand a lot of material in my palm, which is why I like that one. I also liked the saunders pack tab Bisch speaks of. I just can't get him to share one with me. ;)
X's 2 on cordovan tab.
I like the Bateman Cordovan tabs, my favorite is a prototype Tom Jr from rmsgear made, I'm going to cry if I ever lose it!
Y'all recommend one with or without the spacer?
I'm leaning toward the felt spacer like Rando.
Many tabs come with a spacer. It can be removed if you don't like it. If you have no problem with pinching the nock with your glove, you probably won't need the spacer but again, it can be removed if you like.

Bateman is my choice but if u want a thicker tab,try a Black Widow.
Bateman cordovan tab. Wear like iron.
Need tabs for me, I like the spacer between my fingers and is very comfortable
I like the calf hair Black Widow split finger tab.
Bateman cordovan for me. Tried a bunch of others.
Bateman for me as well When you find the style "they offer many" that you like get two. One as a spare because the other will likely never wear out.
Bateman or safari tuff
I like the Bateman, but don't like the elastic they use. I convert them to a ring using an o-ring. I don't think you can wear them out.
My favorite tab was cut from the toe leather of an old pair of skateboarding shoes. it is two layers of suede. I traced one of my other tabs and superglued the two pieces of shoe together. It really works nicely. (as long as I don't anchor near my nose)

X..whatever it's up to...lol
I have tried a Bateman cordovan, it was ok. But like you I wanted a little thicker tab. I was in RMSG a couple of weeks ago and Tom and I were talking about tabs. I looked at the Black Widow leather tab. It looked like what I wanted so I took it home. So far I am very pleased with it and like it better than the Bateman tab.
I would describe it as thicker than the Bateman but not too thick.
Neet calf hair tab with felt finer spacer. You'll never look back.
I shot the Fred Eichler tab for a few years and liked its minimalist design.
However, I picked up a Black Widow split finger tab which is a little thicker, and I don't know that I'll ever go back now.
It took a minute to get used to, but I even love the little flaps that protect the inside of your fingers from developing a callus.
Bateman cordovan is the best one i have used also.
I don't use them any more but my favorites were
Bateman tab with spacer
That Fred Eichler tab
Black widow tab was my favorite
I prefer calf hair tabs. They are smooth, last reasonably long, and they are not unduly expensive. But, in all honesty, I don't notice much performance difference in any of them. As long as they protect my finger tips I am good to go. They do need to fit, though.
started with FabTab but ended up changing to Bateman Cordovan tab from 3Rivers many many years ago. I always keep one on me..one in my pouch...and an extra in my truck. Seem to drop them in dark in woods and never find them. :)
Great product though and I like the finger spacer as well...and they are adjustable so when I have gloves I can make them fit how I want in cooler weather.
Another vote for the Bateman cordovan tab
Bateman Cordovan with finger spacer for me. Used them for years. They wear like iron.
Fred Eichler and BW tabs are what I prefer, just switching back to tab from glove myself. Have a Safari Tuff tab as well but just a little too short for me.

Bateman cordavon is my choice. Made going from glove to tab very easy for me.
Agree with cordovan but it can vary among the manufacturers. Bateman has good cordovan leather that reminds me of expensive shell cordovan shoes, like the old Wilson (black widow) tabs of the past used to be when they were made with cordovan.
I use Fivics cordovan tabs with hard cordovan and leather palm plate. Fivics stopped making them last year but still make several more expensive versions of cordovan tabs with aluminum palm plates. Have an Infitec with an aluminum palm plate but the cordovan is not slick as the old Fivics plain jane model or a Bateman tab. I would say Bateman would be the way I will probably go for the future. Use one of their powder patches (Bateman) now for baby powder with my tabs and it makes them slicker than a mule in a brier patch.
I use a Bateman cordovan tab, slick release and virtually no signs of wear after well over 3,000 shots.
(//%5Burl=http://imgur.com/gEuJgX9%5D%20%5Bimg%5Dhttp://i.imgur.com/gEuJgX9.jpg) [/IMG] Tabs are a personal choice and there are some great tabs and cheap tabs out there. One of the most important aspects of buying a tab is to buy the right size.Just like a lot of folks I have a shoe box full of good intentions. My hand measures 3.5" across the palm. That being recorded I bought large Tabs until the light went off and I took a chance on a smaller size(small)and it made a huge difference.
Thx for all the input! I ordered a neet cordovan for now just to try one and see if I'll even like it or not. If I do I can always upgrade.
Thx again!
I ordered this morning , Bateman 3 under
Those photos wrecked my page!
Eagles Flight cordovan tab. Hard to beat. Well made and very slick. They're a sponsor.

And now you telling me that ?!
I like the black widow tab because I like the Velcro to Velcro around my arrows in the quiver while I'm not using it

What is that extra strap for?
Also Cordovan

This tab i ordered like present for my friend . That strap is gift from tab maker ....
Strap is for fingers i think thumb finger and middle . something like that

Love my bateman. Just not consistent lately on thickness. I bought 3 last year at Denton Hill and 2 of them were paper thin. My "thicker" ones last forever and just feel good to me.
Bateman for me, i have used A&F before but cannot find one now so i used bateman. Cavalier has excellent Cordovan face also, but very expensive.
I like the Black Widow super leather with the rubber finger sections cut out. Perfect!
Fred Eichler (three under, size XL for me) for all but the coldest temperatures. Then I switch to Safari Tuff for the tiny bit of extra room it provides for a thicker glove finger. (I wear thin to thick gloves all the time while shooting.) I fused the Safari Tuff cord ends together so I won't lose the cord lock in the field.
Any body remember the old lanrich tab . Making my own out of a sheep skin jacket . Nice.
Saunders Fab Tab
A bit untraditional with the plastic outer layer but slick, weatherproof, and doesn't wear out. I replace the felt inner surface with leather for more support and longer wear. Has soft rubber-like removable spacer.
All leather Black Widow- my favorite for over 40 years!
Prefer the Fred Eichler split finger tab.
I like a plain Saunders plastic tab without a spacer.
Can't go wrong with a Bateman!
Agree with you crittergetter, love a glove but when it gets hot out it seems to want to slip off fingers, also it seems once I get it broke in, its wore out. Use a bateman tab now.
