Here's the deal...You are going to buy a new longbow and money is no object. You don't want snake skins but anything to else is open. A 2-piece or 3-piece will be considered. Woods/Carbon/Micarta isnt a factor unless you want to specify your choice and why. Build time would be a consideration. Which bow would you buy and why?
ÀCS is the best longbow I have ever shot. I'm speaking about their 3 piece, I have no experience with their one piece.
Sarrels Blueridge takedown longbow because it is the best bow I have ever shot!!!!!

Morning Doug,
For some reason that is a hard question for me because of the 'money is no object'. I immediately wanted to think of the most expensive bow you could order. But after that process thinking calmed down I came up with bows I would love to order. (although I do have one of them and LOVE it).
Here is my list......and they are listed in order of price.
McBroom 64" Forward handle 2 pc longbow
Toelke Whip 64" 2 pc longbow
Tall Tines Tundra 64" 3 pc
Schafer Silvertip 64" longbow. I would beg Beth to allow a 2pc order.
If build time was a major concern; either the McBroom or Toelke would get the order.
For wood chocies....I would go crazy on something with super grade woods. You know me; pretty bows shot better ;)
I have really enjoyed my 2 piece Toelke whip. To me it's tough to find a better bow or better person than Dan to deal with. That's just my opinion and I am limited in the number of different bows I have shot, but smooth, quiet, and plenty fast. to me the best 2 peice takedown system out there, I have owned 2 with thousands of shots and the takedown system is still rock solid.
Am I seeing double?
For me, Javaman Elkheart two piece.

Bisch,
I shot a sierra this past weekend and it was such a joy to shoot! It was smooth, fast, and very forgiving. I hope to find a good used one some time soon
i just went through this myself, I ended going with a McBroom 68" Forward handle ASL Traditional backset 2 pc longbow. i did add some fancy veneers though. tuned some arrows and wow, out of my dozen plus customs this one is my favorite. The only problem with getting it, is i want a few more McBrooms now.
heres a link to what she looks like.

If you can find one the Crow Creek Blackfeather is a sweet shooting bow and easy on the eyes
Hands down... Toelke Whip ! Beautiful bows, excellent performance & short lead times
This week it would be a Toelke Pika, probably a one piece and not too fancy. A Robertson would be on the list, too.
I would like to get my hands on a Sarrels some day.
Northern Mist Baraga....true craftsman that puts everything into his craft with a lot of respect for the history. Light r/d that strings up to a true d shape. Shoots where you look and is smooth.
Big Jim 2 piece buffalo. Loved that bow. Again. Pulls smooth and hits hard.
Bigfoot Flatliner. Kirk is an amazing craftsman and seems like he is a true student of what makes a bow perform. Dedicated to his craft and that bow is amazing.
There are more expensive bows out there and many other amazing Craftsmen. I just want a working bow that I can take into the woods and grow to shoot well. These are what I personally would look at first.
Striker Fast back. Any of the above mentioned are very nice also.
Toelke or Javaman
I'll let you know when I receive my Caribow Featherhorn I have on order.
Stalker longbows are really nice.
A Hill style bow, preferably with a bit of string follow.
Well, I have not shot a lot of bows. I can say that for a one-piece I love my Kanati. For a three piece, my Morrison Shawnee is awesome. Both of these bows are 58".
Pronghorn.
