First one this June, it looks awesome!!
-
got one here in Wyoming in July!!

I would love to do one. It looks like a combination of crossfit work out and bow shoot combined.

Never done one of the challenges but I did pay for access to the workouts for a couple years. Pretty good stuff but with two years worth of workouts saved to my computer, and the price being raised significantly, I've decided to just do my own programming.
I'm not sure if they handicap the course for trad guys but I imagine they would, plus with most of them being run out west I bet they have a few pretty long shots.
Keep us updated and let us know how you do.

I will be doing one this weekend. I have been told that the 3d on the first day has trad stakes or another target to shoot. The challenge course on the second day I am told does not. I will let you know on Monday.

So I just finished the TTH here in AZ. The had trad stakes set well, there was only one that was past 30. The shots were fun. I didn't shoot very well. The brite spot for me was the double, where you had to shoot one and then you had 10 sec. to shoot the next. I shoot it from the wheel stake and beat both of the wheel guys in my group. I was the only male shooting trad. There was one woman trad shooter. She was on a co-ed team. I am in the super master class [61 years old] The meat pack weight for us was 60 lb. The course was 3.2 miles this is the one where I did less well than I would have liked. On day 2 The test that I had the hardest time with was the situp holding your backpack on your chest. One side of the bar was downhill so you were doing it up hill... a little tough. I shot fairly well, Everyone shot from the same stakes, so once again I beat a few of the wheel guys. I ended up with the 3rd highest score in the supermaster class. I am a little sore but not too bad. I hope this helps. If you're in the stud class [100lb. meat pack] The top guy did the course in 34 min. That is 14 min. faster than I did it with 60lb.

so the 60 lb meat pack was 3.2 miles? I think I'm stuck with either 80 or 100 lbs--I'm 39 years old and turn 40 in September:( It sounds awesome!! post some pics if you got em please. Congrats for getting it done--strong work!!!

Sounds like a lot of fun!!

Very nice work ! Congrats on keeping TRAD well earned.
We have an event in PA here this summer and I was hesitant to go in with (my only gear) TRAD set-up.
The meat pack at that weight sounds challenging ....I am recently turned 50 so wonder what the poundage/load will be? I run quite a bit ...but not with weight...will have to start to work on that ! Were the sit-ups with a 60# pack on? Yikes !
Again great job !

As I understand it there are 3 classes for men and women: Open [under 40] Master [40 to 50] and super master [everyone else]. The only time it matters is for the meat pack. It's 100, 80, 60. Everyone carries the same weight [20] for the challenge course. It was a lot of fun. Everyone at this thing has the desire to hunt really hard. Everyone had done some crazy pack outs. A lot of the studs were just back from various deployments. The women did a lot of crossfit stuff. My normal routine was good enough for everything except the meat pack. I thought I would be able to trot the whole way........ didn't happen I managed to average 15 min. miles with the pack on. Faster than I would go in real life but slower than I had hoped.

Train to Hunt is awesome. I was out at the Arizona event last weekend.
They've also partnered with Backcountry Hunters and Anglers and are donating back 100% of proceeds from the Minnesota and Missoula events.

I hope an event makes it to the east. This sounds like a blast!

Anyone else from Colorado participating this weekend?
