I was cutting some full length turkeyfeathers, and looking at all the leftover feather I had after cutting out a 5" shield. Then I got the idea to try making my self a flu-flu. This is the result:

Looks nice.
Whatever you have left over from those you can use to make flies for fly fishing.
I give mine to a gentleman to make kid arrows which he gives away
Terry
I use them for flu flus or move them rearward in the chopper for short stumper fetching.
Looks good!

Looks great...
Good idea... those should work great..
I have used those short pieces for splicing. I call it feather management. With today's prices I need some.
X2 on the splicing......
That's how I make my flu flus, but it's not with the leftovers, I can get more two inch feathers out of a full length feather to do six fletched than I can with three five inch feathers and they work really good
Good idea
You can these modified flu flus without a clamp even! They travel faster than traditional flus and can take a squirrel.
