I shoot 29 inch, 15/35 Gold Tips with 125 up front out of bows ranging from 42 to 50@28. I have a 28 inch draw. Always had problems with carbons until I went to the 15/35 shafts.   :campfire:

I tuned with 340 beman ics and 125 gr fields / 135 gr bh.
But I have a 32 inch draw (53 lbs) and even 300 spine arrows fly right with 270 grain bh.

29 inch arrow  would say 175-200 would be a good start.

I have some cut to 28" and using 250 grains around your set up. I don't know where you are now as far as weight up front goes, but if you're lighter than this it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

I shoot 35/55s - 30" long with 200 up front(regular inserts)  on my 50+/- longbows. D/R longbows that is.

A lot depends on how deep shelf is cut, mine are cut just to center so with strike plate will be away from center about 1/8"

Would brass inserts be effecting my stiffness?

I have a 49# 60" r/d Kota longbow.  It shoots  29" CE Heritage 150 with 100 grain insert and 125 grn ( I think that is the last point I put in it).  It shot that pretty well.

I should have mentioned I shot this arrow out of a 51# Shrew Classic Hunter also.

Not sure on that one, bro had 100 grn brass in his setup with 140 grn heads. But if you take the diff in the inserts off the diff in points, they aren't too far apart. Maybe 22 grns?

Shoot about same as mine. We can shoot each others arrows just fine.

May be that carbons will accept that much difference.

Get some different field points and try em, you should be able to tell if it changes.

My draw is quite a bit shorter but my dw is a little higher and I'm liking the cx 150's I just switched to. 10.something gpi.

I shoot a 52# @ 28" Toelke Whip and my draw length is a hair under 28". I'm shooting carbon express heritage 250's cut 30". I shoot 250 grain point weight. Bare shaft shows a tiny bit weak spine. Arrows fly perfect with fletching

I shoot a Beman Centershot 500 at 30" with a 3.0 wieght tube, standard insert and a 200 grain tip up front.  I also tuned with a Centershot 400 at full length and a 125 up front and it flys like a dart.
