I'm in Atlanta waiting on a plane to Oregon. I have some serious boyer work to do out there...no really. Well, ok, it's gonna be pretty darn fun but I might break a sweat and get a sliver or two :)
I am going to hand pick a bunch of wood for my use in bow building and also resale so ya'll can build some beautiful bows too.
I'm after myrtle, juniper, walnut, mountain mahogany and some other items if I can swing the big deal.
Oh, I plan on doing a little turkey hunting while I'm there just to help out the locals with those agressive birds ;)
To top it off, I've got a pro camera man joining me on the trip to take pictures and film to help "Build our brand" as they say so maybe with a little luck, he'll film me completing my longbow turkey slam and not capture any misses....

Good luck. Sounds like a fun "business" trip!

Oregon as a State is well known for their "Ducks" but only because the lesser-known Oregon Turkey is simply too intimidating to all but the hardest of hearts to imagine.
Good luck and be careful...

Hey Jim, glad this trip came to fruition for you. Have a safe trip and some fun!
I look forward to the out takes of your misses. Also, I hear those turkeys are so dumb you can walk up and kill them with a stick.
Of course that is, until you try lol.

Sound like a tough job, but somebody has to do it!
Look forward to seeing the results!

Only a day in to the trip, but it has already been quite memorable. Drove a lot yesterday, handled and bought a bunch of juniper then nearly ran over three different heard of mule deer. ..no horns so I backed off :)
I have a big meeting this morning that I have been anticipating for over months. Fingers and toes and maybe even my guts are a little crossed.
It will go well. ....
Thanks ya'll, bigjim

Oregon ducks are nothing compared to the state animal....The BEAVER!! By the way, what part of the state will you be in??

Certainly am wishful that you accomplish all of your objectives.
Enjoy your trip and adventure.

Jim, I have to assume, you will have to build more wood storage areas....
Good luck and find some semi truck loads of premium Myrtle and walnut......

Well, I just made it home from my trip and I'm worn out and experiencing some serious jet lag!
I was there for a week and hunted two and a half days of it but was still able to drive over 1200 miles. What a beautiful state!
I acquired lots and lots of wood and even though I did miss a couple of turkeys...or maybe three :banghead: I was able to connect on a beautiful Rio. I will send a pic to a friend and ask them to post it for me. Later, I will add some more pics and some of the story.
Thanks, bigjim
