I just listed this trip on the St Jude auction again. Save your money and bid it up. You will not be disappointed.
My wife, Renee, and I just spent three days hosting Jeremy Stegner and his wife, Carry, on a three day kayak adventure. The trip was purchased on the 2015 St Jude's Charity Auction hosted here on Tradgang. Jeremy and Carry opted for a series of day trips and we had a great time on the Ocklawaha River, Alexander Run, and the Silver River. Pictures to follow...

Gregg, those are really nice pictures. That would be a fun trip. Also, it was good to shoot with you at the TBG shoot earlier. I hope to see y'all again in August.
-
That is some great photography, Look's like a good time, while supporting a great cause.
-
Thanks for the kind comments. I will probably list this again on the auction this year. This was the fourth time that I have hosted people on this trip and I have been blessed with good people every time.
-
Outstanding ... Thanks for sharing.
God bless,
-
Very nice. Always nice to be reminded of the natural resources right outside our door.
-
Greg,
That was awesome! Thanks for posting the pics to take all of us along!
-
My wife and I had a fantastic time on this trip! The Dudley's were great hosts, and tour guides. You would be hard pressed to squeeze more fun into three days than what we had. If Gregg donates this trip again, bid it up high for the kids! I promise you will have a great time.
-
Me next. Me next!
-
Great pictures and nice of you two to offer up the trip.
I wonder how many of those Woodies end up as "gator" chow??
-
A bunch of them, Rudy! We saw babies with no mamas and mamas with no babies.
Thanks again for the comments.
Jeremy, thanks for the endorsement. We really enjoyed your company.
-
That looks like it was an awesome trip. I knew Florida had a lot of feral exotics, but I had no idea there were monkeys.
-
Very nice pics !
-
Great pictures! Looks like it was an awesome experience.
-
Awsome photography, never knew there were monkeys in the US. Thanks for sharing!

Ill be returning to FL in July...just curious.

Irv, we might be able to work something out...

Denny
The monkeys are Rhesus Macaques. They are descendants of a failed attempt by a previous owner of Silver Springs Attractions to establish a "monkey island". A lot of people think they are left over from the Johnny Weissmuller version of the Tarzan films that were filmed here, but if you watch those movies you won't see that kind of monkey. There are five distinct feral bands that inhabit the Ocklawaha and Silver River basins. They are nomadic so sometimes you see them and sometimes you don't. The alpha males are mean and can be aggressive.
Silver Springs attractions has been taken over by the state and is now a state park. They are in the process of restoring the land to a more natural state and are keeping very few of the old buildings. They are still operating the "World Famous Glass Bottom Boats."
Thanks again for the comments, fellas.

Great pictures. Beautiful place. Not being from that part of the country...I sure would be nervous in a kayak around those mini dinosaurs
-
Those pictures sure bring back some great memories! I was one of the lucky bidders on a previous trip with Gregg, and it was worth twice what we bid. If this trip is up on the auction again there should be some serious bidding wars going on!
-
Gregg,
Really great picture! And like the others just amazing what God has blessed us with in nature. When you mentioned those old Tarzan movies I could see Johnny Weissmuller under the water now wrestling a big ole Croc, good stuff
-
wow. that looked like great fun ! Kayaking is a great way to see.... a lot !
