Title: grips
Post by: Arrowcraft on April 09, 2016, 02:48:00 PM
Can any one post and or explain the difference
between Brian of tall tines regular grip and the lower grip. Is it the same dimensions and just lower or is it slightly smaller ? Thanks

I have one of each.  I have been trending towards more lower grip bows lately.  But when I took my 55# out yesterday and shot it, the first arrow was nearly perfect.  One thing that seems to really make a difference is I have to concentrate on solid follow-through or my arrow will drop significantly.

I will try to post a photo of them together, but I don't know if I have this photobucket/ IPhone figured out yet.  If you want, PM me your phone number or email and I'll send it to you.

The bow on the right is the standard grip,  the one far left is the lower grip. The middle is a Blacktail.  I like them all and shoot them equally well, for different reasons.

The one on the left is made from the left over pieces of Gene Wensel's bow,  the BT I used to shoot my bear last spring, the one on the right is my heaviest now at 55#.

When I purchased my Tall Tines Brian said the only difference is that the lower grip is 1/8" lower than the standard grip. I talked to Brian asked a few other guys who had the lower grip and that is what I went with. I really like it.
Take care,
Mark

Sorry I had not checked back on this thread for awhile, and actually don't know what wood was used.  I bought it from Lethalflight57.

Gary's photo does not do justice to the beauty of his bows.  The Tall Tines riser with the low grip is Bocote with a Cocobolo flare.  Looks great with classic black glass limbs and Bocote wedges.
