Hey Gang, I'm looking at the Saffari Tuff style quivers to use for hunting some of the more thicker stuff. I love my back quiver, and for many applications its great, but there are times when I want a little more coverage on my arrows or need to wear a small pack, etc. Is the arrow master about the best one out there? I like the small pouch on it, seems ideal for sticking some small stuff in for an evening sit or something. Anyone using any other brand or style? Keep in mind, things I'm not looking for reviews on:
1) Bow Quivers (sorry, just not a fan of stuff on my bow)
2) the exposed arrow type/cat quivers
Nothing wrong with those types of quivers, I'm just looking towards the arrow master style.
Arrowmaster! or the Duiker Deluxe, a little smaller but still comes with the pouch and storm cover.

I have to agree. I had the Safari Tuff, sold it and got the Duiker deluxe. I liked them both. If I was backpacking in for an extended hunt, I might opt for the bigger one for more arrows. But that is about the only reason.
Having used an Arrowmaster for several years, I can't say much bad about it. I know that camo is what most people want, but I would love to have an Arrowmaster in a plain fabric. That is about the only criticism that I have; the quiver works great, holds lots of arrows, and has a good amount of storage.
I have the Palmer Arrow Works quiver and it is has worked out great for me . No problems after three years . It is water proof and comes with the hood cover. Can say anything bad about the other brands .
Thanks. I'll look at the duiker too. Centaur, I agree. Im not a huge fan of camo pattern either. But I know thats probably what 98% of the people are after so I understand.
Wasn't someone making something like the duiker out of leather...?

I have a safari tuff that you are welcome to try out if you want to. Just ship it back when your done. It's all I used to use but I've moved toward a strap on. Like you I didn't think i would like it but I now prefer it. I never could get a back quiver situated how I wanted because I almost always carry a pack and I hunt some pretty thick stuff. It's all about personal preference.
I'm a big fan of Safari Tuff products, I just happen to own a Palmer Bowmate Elite and absolutely love it. So intuitive to draw and return arrows. Rides great and has a nice sized pocket as well as a compass on the strap. Arrow master or Bowmate you can't go wrong.
If you want full cover in a leather side quiver. Look at Steven Catts sidekick. I have one and it is extremely well built. It will definitely out last me.

Ask Denny Sturgis Jr. He's used an AM in all sorts of different terrain on all sorts of hunts. I love mine hunting in MS
If you want it for hunting, you want the arrowmaster WITH THE ARROW SHIELD. Sorry to yell, but I have hunted with that combo in all sorts of conditions and it does a great job of protecting the arrows and keeps forest litter, snow etc. out of the quiver. It should not be sold without the arrow shield IMO.
When I am hunting out west, I strap it onto my backpack with full access to arrows. Easy as can be.
There some other quivers offered up that are very nice and awesome looking, but I would not use them for hunting for many reasons. AM is it.
I agree with the arrow shield should be included. I'm constantly cleaning leaves.sticks pine,needle, and snow out of mine. And It would be nice to have when the sky's open up with rain.
If I didn't use a climbing stand some of the time I would use my AM all the time. I could strap it to my stand. But I prefer to be as stealthy as I can without having an extra thing to pull up and hang in the tree. Overall great quiver!! Especially for going through the thick stuff it beats out all other types of quivers for that. You'll love it.

I use my AM in the climber all the time. I use a lone wolf mostly and I snap the quiver strap over the climbing seat belt and then take the "top" off the AM loosen a couple arrows from the foam and good to go.
I'd like to see a pic of that I use a,Lone Wolf also! :)
Looks like an AM with the cover will be the next box to sneak past my accountant ....erm...wife. Thanks guys. I think between one of them and my trusty side kick, back quiver, my bases will be covered. I know quiver topics get covered time and again, and so much is subjective opinions, but I appreciate the input.
