I have never been and was looking at the locations for the Rinehart R100 shoots. Have any tradgangers been? Is it worth going and shooting a stick bow?
I know the majority of folks will be there with compounds and sometimes those crowds are a little TOO competitive for my taste.
Haven't shot one since I went traditional and they can be busy. I was surprised there wasn't more difference between the compound & traditional stakes; at least at the one in IN.
Very crowded. We had to stand in line most of the day.

I have gone a few times to the Rinehart 100 .It can be busy for sure. We get there early and it isn't too bad. We always have a good time there and the compound shooters have been very friendly and actually asked us some questions about traditional shooting. I think you will enjoy it. Some of the targets are really cool too !
have a buddy that went a few years ago and said it was a blast. have always wanted to go, myself.
Had a blast. Don't try and do all 100 in a day. You'll be wore out from standing. I would break it up in 2 days.
Just shot the first here in California 3 weeks ago. They setup trad stakes (35yrd.and less)and the shoot is very well organized. Do it if possible you will enjoy it.
I have been to 2 near Tampa Florida. We shot all 100 in one day the first year.I will never do that again. I went 2 years ago and shot the 50 target Africian range. This year it was cancelled in my area due to a large sink hole. I don't keep a score card but I usually shoot pretty good at the Rinehart shoot. I think you should go and check it out.
I went a few years back and had a great time... The compound shooters let us shoot through so we didn't have to wait around... Many targets are interesting... That made it a good weekend...

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a busy but fun event. There are 2 that are gonna be within a few hours of me. I think I'll check one or both of em out. Seems like a good excuse to do some camping and shooting.
I went in 2010 in Idaho, hopefully I can make it to Creted Butte, CO this year.
One of the best shoots out there. Especially if you like a variety of targets. Big fun!!
Enjoyed the one time I participated.
Yup one of my favorite shoots, I go every year
I have been to it about 4 times. Always a lot of fun. It can get crowed but manageable.
It is very dependent on the club sponsoring the shoot. Be prepared for a LOT of standing and waiting. I've been to 4, got my "pin" and won't go again unless a major trad club would arrange to have a trad only R100. I think Rhinehart would go for it if they felt there would be enough shooters.
I think they are the coolest 3D of all I've attended. Targets so unique that many archers have their pictures taken with them; elephants, giraffe, cape buffalo, etc.
I shot a recurve and simply jumped around larger groups of slower shooters and then back-tracked to shoot targets I had skipped.
Thanks for posting about this. I've not heard about them in the past but it looks like there is one in Indiana this summer that I might take the family to.
Have folks found that there is a "better" day or time to try and avoid the largest crowds?
I have thought several times about trying to make one of these. The thing holding me back is the thought of standing around waiting at every target. I've done that enough that I don't feel like it any more.
I leap frogged my targets day once and that sped things up. Another tip is shooting the course backwards helps

That's where I am as well. Jumping around on targets and picking them back up is enough of a pain to me I just don't go anymore. I still seem to end up waiting no matter what anyways.
Great shoot. More trad guys and gals than you think.
I'm going to the Columbia, MO R100 in about a week. This will be my 5th. I shoot my Kodiak Hunter and leapfrog around to the less congested targets. I take 2 days to shoot. I always run into trad folks there. It is the one big shoot I do each year as it is an hour away and camping is free.
