What is the best glue to use on GT trad blems when using feathers? I use Duco on wood but heard it cant be used on carbons?
I used to be a Bohning Fletch-tite fan. But switched to Saunders NPV. I like it. I've yet to find something that feathers didn't stick to.
I use Gel Control Loctite Super Glue on my GT trads and never had a problem. I use wraps as well so that if my feathers get messed up I can easily strip the wrap & feathers and refletch the arrow.
We use Saunders NPV
Terry
Saunders NPV.
I use Duco on GT's with no problem
Use bohning fletchtite platinum and it has been great
I'll second the fletchtite platinum. Iv'e used it for years on carbons with no problem.
I have to vote for the Saunders NPV, it is the best I have found. Works on every shaft material I have tried it on.
I know you didn't ask for this, but I've had good success with bohning fletch tape. Put a touch of goat tuff on the ends. Very quick.

I've used both Saunders NPV and Fletch Tite. Both work. I recommend cleaning the shaft with denatured alcohol before fletching with either glue.
I really like the glue from bear paw archery. Sets really fast and goes a long way. Haven't had any issues with it at all.
I've used Saunders NPV forever, works on all shafts.
On bare carbon, NPV. On wraps either NPV or the nail it's gone fletch tite. Have also used the locktite stuff but like the Gorllia super glue in blue cap bottle better.
Not a big fan of super glues, hard to get off shafts it seems.
Fletchtite Platinum for me!
Bisch
Super glue.
Loctite super glue gel or gorilla super glue gel.
Have to go with Saunders NPV also.
I know this is outside the OP parameters, but I still like fletch tape. The tape has some kind of contact cement and I believe all contact cements rely on the amount of pressure applied, rather than the duration. After I get the clamp in place on the shaft, I press the shaft up against the clamp HARD!
I have yet to lose a feather. They may get ripped up badly to where I have to replace them, but they have never come loose from the shaft.
I use gorilla super glue on carbon and wood, Fletch and arrow in 5 mins. and shoot.
I use this over wraps and/or clear wraps (double dogs) and have NO problems with feather separation.

Fletchtite outlast my feathers every time.
Good old super glue. Any kind, if one controls the flow on the quill. I prefer liquid CA and have tried many brands. They've all worked for me on carbon and wood. (And fingers)
Cheers! Pat.
Fletch tite platinum on shafts I have dipped and I use the gorilla super glue in with the blue cap on bare shafts or on wraps, just need to be careful with the super glues and not use too much.

Started using the tape about 6 months ago, and i'm impressed. No loose fletchings yet. My clamps don't get glue buildup anymore, and I don't have to wait for glue to set on one feather before moving to the next. Still add a dab of duco to the front and rear of the feather for insurance.
Before that, I was using Goat Tuff, never had any luck with Platinum.
I use Gorilla super glue on all my fletchings sets in 60 seconds and holds the best
I have been using the tape on my GT shafts for many years and haven't had one come off yet. I will not go back to glue, every time I do, the tube had dried out and another trip to the store - and more $$$ and wasted glue. Give it a try, you will like it.
Clean with acetone, fletch with super glue gel.
rather than the gel, I use the gap filling type from bob smith industries. I buy the two ounce bottles for less than $10. Of course I go through about 1/2 gallon of the stuff every year in my shop so I always have it on hand. Works great on everything.
