Safe or not ?
Thanks to all
Currently i using Rhino material and my friend warned me that he also using Rhino but for CO . And maybe is not safe for trad !
I love my bow and .....
As far as I know, the Force 10 is the exact same material as the old D10. It is fine for trad bows, but you do not need anywhere near 26-28 strands, like it says in that link (that many strands would be for a xbow, since that is what the material is marketed for now)! I have used D10 on my trad bows in the past, and it worked just fine.
Also, I don't see any reason the Rhino would not work fine either, as long as the string is constructed properly.
Maybey LBR will chime in. He seems to be the most knowledgable guy around when it comes to string material compodition.
Bisch
Thanks Bisch
We will wait for him
D10 is what Pierre at SBD strings uses.
Josh with OliverStacy uses it as well. Some of the best strings he has made for me in the past were 12 strand D10 padded to 14 in the loops. Shoots great and no issues with the bows I have it on - going on 2 years now.

He is making mine with 12 strands and he puts 16 in the loops. I like it better than D-97. I had a couple of new bows that had Rhino strings, and they are really good as well.
You need to know if your tips are made for fast flight material, and I would think you could use which ever one you want.

Milan,
you should have no problem with FF on those beefed up tips. D10 is very good string material. 12 strands should be plenty strong.
If the bow is rated for high performance ("fast flight") strings, it will be fine. Force 10 is the same material, just a different label. It's 100% Dyneema. For a 100% Dyneema material, I prefer 8125G, 8190 Universal, or 8190F. My personal favorite is BCY-X.
Like D-10, now Force 10, Rhino use to be Ultra Cam.
All good material!
Guys thank you all
God bless you
and Happy Easter
Give BCY a call...They will tell you that it is what they recommend for traditional bows.
God bless,
Baaah !
I forgot to ask about serving material !!
I love endless skinny string , so which diameter ?
60# bow ...

I'm not much help on skinny strings. I've tried them off and on in various materials and on various bows over the last 20 or so years, and I can't find any real advantage to them. For endless in general, I like BCY's 3D serving or Halo in .014 or .019.
Chad
I like Halo the best. My strings are not "skinny" (14 strand D97) and the .024 size makes my nock fit perfect!
Bisch
Well skinny for my taste is 12 strand ...
D10 material
.014 or .019 Halo will work fine.
I have used 3 or 4 of the recommended combinations. All worked well for me. I shoot light, mid-40# bows and all shoot well with 8-strand D-10 from SBD, and shoot no worse with the thicker strings from LBR. All are ordered to fit standard GT nocks and all have fit perfectly. I don't think you can go wrong with these string-makers.
I know they are good in string making . But is easy for me to make myself . Maybe to try skinny ,how many strands is recommended for 60# ?
12 strands will work fine. With fewer strands you will get more stretch and creep, and less durability.
Working with D-10 is like working with Dynaflight '97. The difference in SK75 Dyneema and SK78 Dyneema is minute.
I use D10 for some customers that want "skinny strings" and they have been very happy with the strings made from D10. So long as the bow is approved for fast flight there shouldn't be a problem.
Guys !!
Me again , :)
How many strings ( endless) i can make from 1/4 Lb
12 strands string .....approximately ....
Thanks for all answers !
20, give or take. I base this on my getting 80 longbow strings from a pound of Dynaflight '97 (12 strand).
Thanks a lot
For the past 6ish years I have been shooting 10 strand, d 10, endless strings off my recurves and hybrids I pad the loops by serving them twice with nylon serving, I have no idea if that actually does anything but I haven't had any problems so far. I serve the nock area with Diamondback. The only reason I got into endless strings was because they looked easier to make and I'm limited on time. As far as string creep goes when I put a new string on a bow the brace height will drop and 8th or so in the first day or so after that I've shot one string for 2 years plus and the brace height never moves. This is off of bows in the 55Ib range.
Ok ,basically i need to make endless string 3/4 bigger than i need ?
Lots of variables to consider, but that would be a good starting point.
