Title: Wood Shaft ?
Post by: old bucky on March 13, 2016, 08:03:00 PM
I have a 58" recurve 48# @ 26" my draw cut 1/16" past center fast flight string, I will shoot 160gr. I have 55/60 and 60/65 spine wt. shafts already, do you think these will work and what length?

You should have it covered with those spines. Others with more experience will be along shortly; I'll say a ball park to start would be the 55/60's @ 28" BOP. You'll have plenty of room to shorten them if they shoot weak. You could go down in 1/2" increments a couple of times.

Could try the 60/65's starting at the same length, again stiffening, if necessary, by shortening.

I agree with slow bow.  One or the other, probably both, will work cut to 27-28 inches BOP.

Yep you should be good with a bow cut past center, not so with a longbow. I think most of them wood arrow charts are made with a longbow in mind. Some of my longbows actually shoot a lighter arrow than recomended
