Title: The Wait Begins!
Post by: GRAYBEARD on March 08, 2016, 03:43:00 PM
Just sent Cory at Heartland Custom Bows a deposit on one of his Pulse one-piecers. His Surge is so nice I just could not resist trying his other offering. Gonna be a long 3 months!

Jed,
what woods/veneers are you getting, glass color?

Will be 58", belly will be yew or koa, depending on quality of available veneers. Back will be timber rattler over caramel glass, the riser is Cory's choice with a leather grip to compliment. I'm already getting impatient!

Good for you Jed, sounds awesome! Can't wait to see pics once the build starts. I think you made a wise decision letting Cory choose the riser wood to compliment your limb veneers. Wood figure and color varies so much you really can't just pick an exotic wood unless you see it against the veneers first hand. I've been disappointed in the past because I had an image of what I wanted only to end up with something completely different.

Ahhhh the hardest part is the wait, but it will be worth it I am sure. Cory did my surge with about 2 month wait time starting with order placed 12/18. Bocote riser, boo core and black glass. Simple but that's the way I like it. A real pleasure to shoot. Smooth draw and shot as well as quiet. Lovin' it. Here are some pics and the last she is all ready for turkey season except for the white fletched practice arrows.

Thanks, guys. I know other bowyers are a year or more so this is a relatively short agony but I like the Surge so much I am really excited to get my hot little hands on the new one.
