I've decided to give a Pika from Dan a try. He has several in stock in my specs. Can't decide T/D or one piece. Don't travel a lot, but thinking the bowbolt weight will make for a more stable shooter. What say you???
Heard nothing but good about those, and I like the extra riser weight personally.
Most of the time you will get more money out of a takedown if you was to ever sell or trade it. Itso just up to you but be sure and post some pics and tell us about how you like it.
I've always shot better with a takedown. The only time I use one piece is in longbow tournaments that require one piece. I'm sure the Hill shooters would give you a different answer.
Takedown in the Pika is much more stable. The one piece felt a little twitchy to me. Two piece was rock solid.
If I had the money, I would lean toward the take down. Personally I like smaller risers with a little more mass weight, Usually that take down system is perfect.
Also, when and if you do travel, its more convenient. You can stuff it under the seat in your truck.... If I had the money, its a no brainer.
If you have a one piece and need a two piece, your out of luck!
If you go the two piece, you are covered either way.

My thoughts exactly!
I would go 2 piece.
Sure would like to know how you like it and some photos, bc I have been thinking about one as well.
I really am enjoying the Thunderchild I bought from you David.

Well, I just sent Dan payment for the 56" 46@28 T/D Pika He has on His instock page. :bigsmyl:
Hey Davey, I checked your bow out on the Toelke site...It's absolutely beautiful!!!! Best of luck with her.

It does look like a beauty, as all Toelke's seem too! Congrats!!
Dan called me and it sounds like my bow is done and I will be picking it up tomorrow. I went with 54" T/D, 51# @ 28". Bocote accents on the riser, black glass limbs (love that, my last 3 Toelke's have all had black glass) and beaver tail wrapped grip! Can't wait to see it. Dan said its a looker.
I asked Dan about wrapping mine with beavertail He advised against it????
Can't wait to hear what you think. I wouldn't have covered up that beautiful grip, I'm guessing that's what Dan was thinking.
Very nice  Been eyeing that one since he listed on his site. Curious why he advised against the beavertail? If I ordered one it'd be sporting some tail.
Ron(Elkchaser), I'm really looking forward to seeing yours...!!
I can tell you that the Pika is as fine a shooter as I've shot in a longbow....the only thing I've shot in the same ballpark is a 2 pc Chinook..!! Toelke's are building some shooters..!! :clapper:
JR (Guss) I sent you a couple of pics of the Pika. Just picked it up today. I think we are going to get along real well. You can post the pics if you want to.
Congratulations, please let us know what you think of it.
I had looked at the bow more that a couple times. If it was just a little heavier, it probable would have been headed in my direction.
Here we go guys, Ron(Elkchaser's) new Pika...!!!

Nice...!!
Thanks Guss!
I will try to give a full report once I get home with it and am able to spend some quality time with it.
I will say that the first several shots through it in front of Dan's shop were flying extremely true, extremely quiet and very quick. I think I'm going to love it.

Got mine today. Spent a little time with it. Seems to like a high brace. Need more time but am impressed so far. Like yours Ron, that bacote pops.
Congrats on the new bows guys.
Man that black glass and bocote is sweet!!
David, my 56" likes ~8"...
Yea, that's what figured out with the little I played with it. It really likes a 30.25" black AD Trad Lite standard insert, wrap, 3 5"feathers with 200 out front. Finished out a little lighter than I wanted, 475 grs. about 9.5 GPP. Looks quick to my eye, and quiet. :bigsmyl:
Glad you got it and like it Daveycrockett!
Dan told me the 56" Pika should be about 7 3/4" brace and the 54" right around 7 1/4".

Thanks Warden609, I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
That bow daveycrocket picked up is also a work of shooting art!!
When I was at Toelke's shop yesterday, there were a number of absolutely gorgeous bows of every size and model at some stage of being built and finished. I didn't see a homely one in the bunch!! :)
Ron, not exactly what I need to here...!!!

I think it's Great! Rain stopped, got to play with it most of the day. I've tried almost every short LB out there, This one has NO Comparison for Me. Don't know what Dan's secret is but it shoots like a long LB.
So what your saying is I was right? Lol

Yep, just like You said! But how???
Not complaining, just wondering out loud.
That's what I said?! Feels just like a 64" whip.
