I get this message a fair amount of the time when I do a topic search.
Is there a time limit for messages to remain active or is it an issue with the topic itself?

I think that unless you type in the exact topic title, you will get that reply. It can only search for exactly what you enter.

Sometimes a topic gets pulled.......usually for a good reason.
I have the same thing happen too, such as if I do a search that has multiple pages of results and I try to jump to a middle page. I just redo the search, as I guess the search page has timed out or something.
Select "match any words in description" and the search will go wider
