Well I am sitting here in the truck waiting for my brother. He took me out to one of his spots today that is a friend of ours. He hunted a stand yesterday that was in a large oak tree on the corner of a big pond. It was evident that the deer were going around this sharp corner and I got sat up and began to wait. It wasn't long and I see movement. It's a buck coming for the corner.
He passes by at about 8 yards.

I took video of him going by which was pretty neat with the spitting snow going sideways in the wind. After he passed I sat down a minute and not long after I saw another deer headed for my corner. At that point I stand up take the Morrison off the hanger and hope it's not a button buck. The deer gets to about 30 yards and I can tell its skull is bumpless. She is quickly in range and as she walked by I sent a carbon express 150 her way. The hit was a tad high but I could see a bunch of blood surrounding the arrow stuck in the ground.
She ran about 80 yards and I got to witness her tump over. I texted my bro and he said he wasn't feeling it at his spot so I told him to come on back to the stand he put me in.
I gathered up my prize and gear and am sitting here in the truck hoping good luck for him. Fingers are getting cold so I'm keeping this short. Our Kentucky season ends tomorrow. It's been a great year.

Rick, I like trying things I haven't experienced. I do that so I can have an opinion. When I was a kid I had some bear razorheads and shot some small game with them but never a deer. Since then I had not used them so at the start of this season I was talking to another TG'er (Sam Stephens) about them and we ended up doing a broadhead swap. I sent him a Grizzly two blade and he sent me a Bear. Well it arrived and I shot it and it flew fantastic on my setup with no tweeking. So I then was telling my buddy Brad (biathlonman) about them and he said don't buy any I have a handful I'll send you. I killed my buck earlier in the year with them and this deer. I did have a malfunction with that one (no fault of the head) so I kept them in the quiver. Planning on taking them on a hog hunt soon so will hopefully see how they do on a dirty tough hog. They do get crazy sharp with my KME I can attest to that.
So it was a nostalgic trip for me that has been enjoyable and well worth it.
Congratulations TJ!
congrats!!!
Well done! A great finish to your deer season!

Congrats sir. Sad to says it's over with in KY but I too have had a good season. My hunting buddy and I had planed all week to go Saturday and we were super excited hunt a lake property that is covered in slick heads and we will say they are definately used to seeing people.... Their lack of wisdom makes for a super fun hunt. But as luck would have it my father in law needed help getting his tobacco down so I opted to give up my last hunt for the season. We are about 90ish days out on turkey season! Can't wait! Congrats again!
Wes
Well done as usual Tom !!! We can always count on you to put a few in the freezer. :clapper:

Good stuff. It looks cold!
Congrats on a last minute kill, now the long wait begins, at least for deer.

Congrats!!
Pretty cool, Tom. I have a 60 Grizzly that carries a tape on Bear quiver and early Razorheads. They're not my favorite broadhead, but well proven over a long time and yeah, it feels good carrying them.
Nice work!
I had my best encounter on the last week here in MO, but it just didn't quite come together.
Late season hunts are fun. Congrats and thanks for sharing!
