I have been searching for 4 years for the perfect glove.
I have owned damascus, bw PDQ, Neet, Bearpaw speed glove, Bear paw Black glove, Bw sticktite, and an American Leathers Big shot.
They all have had there benefits or things I liked/didnt like but I havent found one that suits my needs and fits me perfect.
I have been looking at the american leathers kangaroo crossover and I am intrigued however the last american leathers glove I owned I found the finger stalls too short to really accommodate a deep hook. I have been using the neet glove lately because it is able to let me use a deep hook. However, the problem I found is that they stretched quickly. They fit good for a month of two and then eventually get loose.
I guess Ill get down to it...How is the protection and stall length of the American leathers kangaroo glove?
I would recommend you call and talk to John about what you'd like. I sent him a fax of my hand. He called and explained that one glove would fit my hand but not my fingers AND vice versa. He did not make a "stock" glove that would work. If I was willing to wait for one to be made, it would be made with one size "glove" and one size stalls. Should be here next week.
I'm confident that if it doesn't work as well as either he or I would like it to that he would figure out how to make it work.
Give him a call. Seems like a genuinely nice and honest businessman.

Like most of you, I 've tried many differents shooting gloves. At least, I found the perfect one!
It's made in France, sorry...
Why is it so good? Because it is made at your size. you give to the bowyer the diameter of your 3 fingers, once you've got it, at home you'll assemble differents elements, You'll cut at your size the right lenght of leather, put into warm water to have a perfect fit of your fingers, then let dry the glove.
Trust me, it is the best on the market.
The problem is to order, it is in french, with cm and not inch.

I think you would be quite happy with the Kangaroo Crossover. The stalls are plenty deep and there is no stretching, repeat NO stretching and really comfortable from the start.
As suggested, give John a call. You can eliminate any potential problems just by talking to him. Great guy and knows his business.
I'll let you know in a few days , I ordered one two days ago and I like a deep hook and shoot the same pound bows as you.
Do the make the American leathers kangaroo crossover without the finger stalls?
I agree with Charlie Lamb. If you want something special like no stalls call and talk to them.
I wanted the cross over straps a little longer, I called and it was done for me that way.
Does the Kangaroo glove come standard with nylon sewn under the leather? I would prefer no nylon. Just thick leather.

I ordered the Kangaroo crossover right after they came out. This is the best glove I have ever used!
Hermon, 9 shocks...I'd call and request a custom version. They are VERY helpful folks.

I believe that is "stock". If you want "no nylon", please give John a call and say so. The difference is, he probably doesn't have one ready to ship. You'll have to wait for it to be sewn.

Years ago my wife kept shooting with her old glove and said 'no' to getting a American Leathers glove. I couldn't handle any longer and got her one. did she approve? Yes, in the form of chewing my butt for not explaining how good a good glove can be. I got a Kangaroo, then I got my son a kangaroo. He declared it to be the best shooting glove ever made, my wife still thinks it is too much to spend on a glove for her, but also thinks that she wants a kangaroo model now as well. When I get her one is she going to chew my butt again for not explaining it properly?
don't know about cross 9ver but I have 2 elk and 2 buffalo slick shots.....I use deep hook.....great gloves
I got my kangaroo krossover in the mail yesterday. At first I was worried it may be a tad small but after shooting a few arrows I think it fits just right , I think I had just got used to cheap gloves that never fit right. The glove does need a bit of breaking in but I don't think this will take long, I do get a very clean release with this glove. Now just have to figure out why I'm shooting so far to the right, probably just getting used to something new. Long story short great fit, great feel of the string, very smooth release, very likely the perfect glove.
I got lucky and found a gentleman from Australia selling new kangaroo crossovers about 3-4 years ago. He sent some kangaroo to John and had him build some crossovers. I purchased one and never regretted it. My prior glove was a American Leathers elk Big Shot. So I already knew the quality. The kangaroo crossover looks as good today as it did when I bought it. John at American Leathers will go the distance to help you make it right.
I have a Kangaroo crossover being made for me. John told me the glove is all leather, no nylon. I also do not like short stalls on a glove and John assured me the glove had plenty of stall length. I am currently shooting a BW glove. One of the keys also to glove fit is to never let anyone else shoot your glove. That will stretch it out! Looking forward to getting mine.
Don't let anyone else use your glove, absolutely correct. There is one archery item that is never in my archery room, my wife's shooting glove. She is afraid some fat fingered knucklehead will come over and stretch it out wrong. I keep mine out of sight as well.
Pavan, let us know when she shoots it! Help your brothers out...
9 Shocks, did you ever end up trying the kangaroo crossover? If so, how'd you like it? Comparison to the PDQ?
Not trying to interrupt the thread. But if your stalls are a little to lose usually a couple stitches back by the knuckle right below the factory stiches will tighten them up again. A small awl or even a 1/16th drill bit will help get the needle through.
The Neet glove stretches because it is deerskin. Perhaps if you started with a size smaller it would break in just right. Personally I gave up on gloves and switched to a tab.
I have a kangaroo on the way right now. I'm excited to get it! I will keep everyone updated
ttt- any updates?
I'm not sure it classifies as perfect, but I've been shooting one made by Byron Ferguson for several years now. It's the only one I use.
Been shooting with mine for better than a month now and I love it . My advice would be to send in a tracing of your hand for the perfect fit, mine is just a tad small but was worried the next size up may be a little to big ( I did not send a tracing to impatient)
I just ordered a second Kangaroo Crossover glove, and like the first one, I had John put XL size (length) finger stalls in my medium sized glove. I have always used tabs because the gloves I've tried in the past just didn't work for me.
