I've been getting back into traditional after a few years where a shoulder injury kept me from shooting. As much as I love shooting, I've got a ways to go before I shoot as good as I want again, but it's coming around

				Sweet!

You offering them for sale?  It would be awesome to be able to send a broken arrow in from a memorable hunt and end up with something like that!

That is really cool. Very nice work, Do I see real lathe talent here? Trouble is for me those need to be some really big in diameter shafts for my fat fingers.
REAL NICE

Cool! Just think, I have produced enough ring material to supply everyone on Trad Gang with a set of matching rings.

				Very cool

Very cool indeed!  I would be interested in seeing how you do that.

				Thanks, guys.
Brad, I hadn't thought of selling them, but I could do that if someone wanted me to. They are not real hard to make though.
M60gunner, don't need a lathe to do this and any size finger could be accomdated.

From the looks of the grain, and size; they don't seem to be made perpendicular to to an arrow shaft.
I too would be interested in seeing how you do that.
Very creative.

				Pretty cool.........

Nice work.  Sure beats using them for kindling.

I like those. That's super cool.

				        :archer:

				Aromatherapy!

Hey, Ken, here's a couple of pics that might help.
First I plane a little flat spot.

Then I bandsaw a thin strip.

It should look like this when done.

After that I steam bend it around a socket that's the right size for the finger and let it dry 24 hours. Then I take the dry coil and use superglue to recoil it permanently. Then I sand them...a lot

I burn them and inhale the spirit of the cedar tree. Minus the chemical sealant.

Really nice.  I wonder how durable they would be.

Pretty neet!

				That is just plain ingenious.
Thanks for showing the process.

				That's very interesting !

Very creative .... I used to chip up my cedars and soak them in water to make BBQ chips

				Very cool!

I've tried planting them next to my tomatoes and peppers hoping to grow new ones. Haven't had any luck.    :knothead:
Great idea with the rings. I'll have to give it a try.

Very cool!  Thanks for sharing it.

Good question. I don't know if it's the CA glue or what, but so far these seem to be surprisingly durable. I'll let you know after a couple of months.
