Hi guys i finaly got some arrows in .500 and 600 spine 500 are way o stiff for my 45pound pse legacy even with 100gr brass insert and 125 gr field point. but i ran into another problem. the recomended brace height on the bow is 6.5 to 7 inches. when my bow is strung and the string is not twisted at all the brace height is right at 7.4 inches. bow is shooingpretty good but dont want to risk it. seems like the factory string is to short
check on the manufacturers website to see what length string is recommended for that bow.
I did check and they recommended a 64inch string. this string is definetly shorter
how short is the string? I wouldnt shoot the bow if its short you could be adding to much stress on the limbs when it is drawn. and dont count out the arrows till you have the correct string and brace set.JMHO
its about 63,2 inch long. cant find b50 material so will phone the archery shop first hing in the morning o see if they can make me a new string
If your string is a new b50 it should stretch a bit while shooting it in. Especially when the temps warm up.
go a new string today thanks allot guys
got sorry
To answer your implied initial question there is no problem with shooting a bow with an extra half inch of brace height...I have a couple of bows that get noisy with too high a brace height but I have a bunch of bows that work just fine with a brace height on the high side
