I have been dreaming about this bow for many years! Here it is, and it came on Christmas Eve!
I am heading out of town in just minutes. I will add more later.

Very cool. I just got some skinned limbs from Schafer today. Its a great day.
Congratulations thats a beautiful bow.
I figure that Allen made 79 strings to get this blacktail. Congrats brother! When that hedge apple ages it will be even more stunning!

Just what I was thinking Tom. That's a lot of twisting!
Thanks to everyone. It is a beauty for sure. Specs are, 62" 48@28.
Woods are Macassar ebony and colored Myrtle.
I just want to say that the bow is absolutely perfect. Fit, finish, glass, everything! Alan Pope at Blacktail was a pure joy to work with through my build. He is a gunuine great guy to deal with.
If I ever decide that I want another new bow, Alan will be my fist call.
Time to go out and shoot. :bigsmyl:

Bisch...I know a guy... :D
I'm sure they don't have many requests to send a new bow out without a string!
We gonna see any blood on it in 2015-2016 season?

That's the plan. We still have a week or so left in our season. I'm hoping to at least get in a tree with it a time or two before season ends.
A raving beauty....
That is beautiful!

Beauty buddy, good luck with it!
Great looking bow!
Ernie
Good looking bow Allen, well worth the wait i'm sure.
Great looking bow...!...
Love that Macassar! Very nice bow!
Love those Blacktails! Purdy!
Kind of ironic Allen, owning a Blacktail given your last name. :biglaugh:
A beautiful bow as are all B's. I recently acquired a Sitka T2 and just love it. And yes, Allen is a great guy to deal with.
Congrats!!! Great gift right there :)
David don't worry, I have a Silvertip also. :jumper:
I can give you a recommendation on who to go to for strings....
Santa must have figured you were a good kid this year...congrats!
Love that Oregon Myrtle in a Blacktail bow!!!
That myrtle wood really is something special. Love the contrast between woods. Great choice.
Looks good!
Thanks guys, it really is beautiful. Now to get her tuned in this week.
Nice one Allen. I officially call first dibs if you get sick of it LOL. Enjoy!
Wow ! Nice bow !
What is the wood ?
Macassar Ebony and Myrtle.
I will try to get some better pics up soon.
Here are a couple pics of it strung. I mamaged to get outside to shoot it a bit this morning before the rain started. Hopefully things will clear up soon so I can get her dialed in good.
The Macassar Ebony is just incredible!

Yoooooo :clapper:
That sure is SWEET !!! Congrats Allen
That's funny Allen. I got a Columbian longbow this summer with Bolivian rosewood and figured myrtle. It too is a great combination. I have no doubt you're going to love the way that bow shoots.
Nice..
Got to love those Blacktails. she's a keeper Allen.
Wow what a beautiful stick allen Best of luck with it I hope to see some antler bone posed next to it soon!!
Absolute beauty of a bow.
Another beauty Allen.
I know, I know, so many bows, so little time.
I just wish you weren't a short lefty. I never get to shoot any of your new toys :(
Bill, I prefer to be called "draw length challenged", not short. :scared:
Y'all don't know short...
48# at 28" sounds right in my wheel house. Merry Christmas Allen, hope you have a great new year.
Allen, the forecast for the next few days will keep many of us inside. We sure could use a test review by Wednesday. After that I hope cool weather will let me out of this house :banghead:
no rush just kick it up a notch!I would have wore out a string by now just sayin!
Howard, I was able to get out and shoot it quite a bit at mid day today. I know not every bow fits every Archer, but this one is going to work out very well for me.
It usually takes me a few days to get a new bow shooting just how I like it. I have this Blacktail pretty well tuned in after less than 100 arrows though it. I can't wait for 3D season to start in a few weeks!
So tell us about the arrows you are shooting.
I draw 27", so it's right at 45# for me. I am shooting my trusty Carbon Express Thunderstorm SEs (predecessor to the Heritage 90), with a 125 gr point. These arrows shoot awesome out of just about every bow I have tried them on.
I strung her up with an 18 strand Fury string with one small set of rubber whiskers. After just a little tuning, it is quiet and very quick.
I will get my chrono out in a day or so to compare it to my other bows, but I know Blacktails are great performers.
Very nice buddy!!
Beauty of a bow. I better even better to shoot.
Just saw this Alan, she's a beauty.
That is a beautiful bow.
Sweet bow ! Congrats !
Gorgeous as usual!!!
Great looking bow!
Absolutely Gorgeous!
I have one with Cocobola and colored Myrtle! I think WE have good taste. Lol
