I got a chance to talk to Ron the another day and one other time at my booth at ETAR this year.
I have finally put in a order for a Shrew a Super Shrew and I cant wait to get this bow in my hands.
But I will need to pick out the woods and what not!!!
So I did some looking around on here and the web but wanted to see what else I could get you folks to show me
SO SHOW ME YOUR SHREW!!!!!!!!!!!what you have that looks good
Gary,
Both are Super Shrews. They are both basic hunting configurations and not the sexy wall hangers we often see. The bow on the left is a Coffey creation with clear glass over bamboo and the bow on the right is a John McCullough Shrew with camo impregnated vaneers. Straight up Shooters!

Take your pick Gary :goldtooth:

Wow!!
Ron, you covered the request :biglaugh:
First time I've ever seen a pack of Shrews. ;)
I am liking the antler overly
A few years ago I shot some 3Dd with Ray Lyon and was impressed with his Super Shrew and vowed to get one if I could afford it. Later that year I lucked out with this custom Super Shrew. It's my favorite bow. (not sure how to get the pictures into this post)

Hi Bob,
Great to see you join the Shrew clan.
I must say, Tradgang is a really cool place. Bob came to northern MI with his wife who was here for a horse show and Bob posted a thread on here asking about ranges in the area. I met up with him and we shot through the local range and I had a pleasant time with Bob. It's one of those things about Tradgang that never ceases to amaze me.
By way of explanation, the bow was a custom build for someone else that I bumped into at a KTBA shoot. The wood is so beautiful that I put skins over it when hunting.
I have the Super Shrew Gold (Osage). I love the honey color, its grip is awesome and oh yea it's a shooter.

Sorry, I guess it was worth repeating.
I had a SS Samarai with Bamboo limbs and Antler tips and overlays. That was a great bow. Beautiful too.
Gary - Would you paint a Shrew camoflage?

Keith,
That bow is on the left in Chromebuck's photo up top! You're right, that is a fine shooting bow. The overlays on that bow are very nice...

Shrews are wonderful bows, with a great history. Here are some I've had, some I have, and some I wish I still had...

These veneers are what Ron calls "Spiritwood". If I was having a Shrew made I would ask Ron if he has any around...

Congratulations on your Shrew! That's really exciting. Be sure to let us see that bow once it's in hand.
Best Regards, Chase
I named it Spiritwood because you can see images of people and animals in the grain of the wood

Beautiful bow. I have never seen an ugly Shrew
Those are gorgeous bows and that spiritwood is out of the ballpark.
Definately the top bow on my wish list!
Lets see if I got this right:

You shoot four fletch Jeff?
He shoots 2, 3, 4, haven't seen him with 5 yet :)
Actually Bladepeek is 100% correct, I shoot 2,3 & 4 fletch arrows. I prefer 2 or 4!
Gary if you want to make it easy on yourself, the Samurai removed any choices I needed to make about woods because it comes one way. Beautiful!! :bigsmyl:
Beautiful Bows!
Chuck brought this Super Shrew Gold over today that was ordered by a customer. It has some very nice Osage veneers over the bamboo core.

Oh. Oh, my...
Beautiful looking bow.
This is such a respectful and honest thread of adoring Shrew owners...
...but when I first read the title--- pages ago, and opened it, I thought I'd have to go find and scan a picture of my Exwife...
Only ever handled a very few Shrew bows and most were above my draw weight, but they were interesting to say the least... way more then my Ex! :knothead:
Doc Doc :biglaugh:
A close up of the riser, Curly Osage over Tiger Wood, same on the tip overlays

That has got to be one of the nicest looking shrews that I've seen, and I've seen a lot! Well done Chuck!

This thread is bad for my health. I have never seen an ugly Shrew or one that I wouldn't love to own. Someday I will own a Samurai again. That bow is a beauty and it shoots right where I look.

Maybe I will just call it Duke I don't have a bow named Duke yet

The Shootist is a fantastic name!
The Shootist it is !!!!
Not to completely derail this thread but where do you shrew-shooters place the grip? Low-wrist, Med-wrist? I've never held one and the forward-ish, near-reverse, lines of the riser make it seem decieving to the eye.
The next time I strag from a "standard" recurve riser I think it'll be this style.
Thanks for any comparisons.
Here's my Super Shrew! (http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b334/AnointedArcher/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160202_102740_zpsyamkjore.jpg) (http://s22.photobucket.com/user/AnointedArcher/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160202_102740_zpsyamkjore.jpg.html)

Why do I keep looking at this thread and now you say Samurai (my favorite bow I have ever shot - and sold). I need to find the wife's checkbook and hide it for a while.
And the riser on the bow of the left looks fantastic too.
