Hey guys . Appreciate all the help you guys gave me on last thread. I just got a bear grizzly brand new 45# and I do draw 28. So I'm wondering what spine arrows you guys hunt with?
I plan on bare shaftin and tuning I'm just lookin for a starting point . From what I've read here. I guess a lot of charts tend to give folks to stiff a shaft ? I like alluminum arrows for the weight I like xx75's. Just not sure which spine, I'm thinkin I'll cut them around 30 inch and go from there
I don't intend on shooting at an animal for than 15-yards for me it's more about the stalk. That why I sold the compound.
so I'm not really worried about flat speed past that at all! Lol
Thanks again!
Tom
I would guess 1916 in an aluminum shaft.
Bisch
I would get a test set with different tip weights and bare shaft tune to find out. Bisch is right on with a good place to start.
Awesome thanks
If you want to get it right early and save money in the long run get the test kit as said. I tried several and should have done the kit. I shoot around 46 pounds and the Easton Tribute arrows in 2016 work good for me. They bare shaft slightly weak with 145 grain points. That is what you want I think because the fletch stiffens it right up. At least on my set up. Also the Tributes are not very expensive.
I have heard it is better to be weaker in spine than stiff. I'm not sure why though. Maybe someone else knows. Good luck!
Thanks Shooter!
I shoot a 45# Grizzly and draw 28". I use 1916 with 125gr heads.
