We haven't been talking... anything new to report ?  I heard tell that several big deer were killed this year as well as several maybe not as big deer.   Will there be any get together's this winter for bunnies or skwerls ?

I managed a 9 point down near your neck of the woods on November 11. I have family in Poynette. Quite a bit of chasing when I was down, the one I got was actually the second smallest I saw that day.

I came up empty handed in the WI bow season. Had to make my venison with that noisy thing.

I have a good story and, unfortunately a bad story this year.  Still going at it for the late season.   I find that I dislike wearing orange while bow hunting from the ground....

I sure hope Don does have at least one more bunny hunt.  I really have fun visiting his farm.

Hello guys, I did not shoot a deer this year.  I had 6 or so opportunities bow hunting but didn't shoot. Usually the situation wasn't perfect but at the end of the day I chose not to because I didn't want to shoot..... I had all sorts of excuses as to why I didn't want to shoot but I'll spare you.

I would be interested in a gathering this year, please let me know if something is happening.

Rib Mountain Bowmen will be Hosting a Winter Traditional shoot Jan 6 and 7

From the Web Site:

"When: Jan 6, 2018 - Jan 7, 2018

Winter Traditional Shoot (traditional equipment only), 3D Outdoor & Indoor with 14 targets. There will be breakfast and lunch both days with registration going from 8am to 4pm on Saturday and 8am to 2pm on Sunday."

I will try, but not sure I can make that one.  Are you bunny hunting at all this year ?   Hey.... know any spots for possible snow shoe bunny hunts ?   I would love to try that some winter.  Preferably NOT when it is 50 below though....

Hey Chuck.  I do not know of any good Snowshoe spots. rumor has it there are a few around here but I have not seen any tracks yet.

Seems there is a decent bunny population at the farm where my horses are. They seem to migrate to the hay storage area lol.  With that the coyotes have moved in too.  I am not sure if there are a lot of rabbits or if its just a few making a lot of tracks.  I have not seen one yet this winter but haven't been trying as it has been far too cold.  

Usually just running hay from the barn to the pasture has my hands and feet already hurting from the cold.  Wanted to trap some coyotes but it was too cold to go set snares.

Hope to see some of you guys at Rib Mt.  if its cold, I may not be shooting outside but after years of getting frost bite on my hands and feet from late season Bow hunting, It seems like the cold sets in faster than it aught to anymore.

This has not been a really wonderful winter for me....  no illness or the like, just haven't done much of anything.  Weather was just not right for anything.   I haven't even gone to the Kauss farm for a bunny hunt this year, the first time in numerous years.  I wonder what is up.  Been taking my dog for long walks in the woods and carrying my bow and back quiver each time, so I get that as exercise, but this winter SADDS depression thing is sure taking a toll.  Gotta stop that !  Come on spring, come on 3d shoots.

it is at that tease phase.  cold then hot,cold then hot.  Get excited about spring... snow 6".

Oh well.  Saw a robin all puffed up on the shop roof this morning.  Guess he is saying the same thing.
