Eagle cap

(1/1)

PATGUN:
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out locating some muleys and maybe elk in Eagle cap or a better area for traditional walk in(if there is one ) in Oregon.
I've been twice with my hunting buddy and not alot of sightings and no succusful stalks on muleys. Last year we saw quite a few elk but we only bought deer tags. Seems to be more hikers than animals.
East coast flat-lander could use a little help.

BlacktailBowhunter:
Oregon Mule Deer numbers are low. I don't know that they meet management objectives in even one unit, which is 15 bucks per 100 does.

PM sent.

PATGUN:
do you know if it's any better in different areas in eagle cap or trad only areas?

snag:
The trad. only hunts are a joke. Kind of token tags for the trad. group. They used to be good before predators and the '94 winter kill off. Oregon is having a hard time rebounding from these. There are still a few, and I do mean a few, good bucks around. The odds just aren't good unless you live around them or do extensive scouting.  Because of the low numbers of good bucks you won't find people giving out this precious info.
