Title: What Is Wisconsin Traditional Archers?
Post by: Whip on March 01, 2006, 06:47:00 PM
Wisconsin Traditional Archers was founded in 1992, and has been devoted to promoting responsible and ethical traditional bowhunting practices ever since.
The WTA website can be found at   http://www.wistradarchers.com/
The "Stumpshooter" is our quarterly newsletter, and serves as the primary tool of communication, and contains listings of upcoming Wisconsin traditional archery shoots, editorials, summaries of recent board meetings, along with hunting stories and photos from our members.
The annual membership meeting is held in late winter.  It is an all day event, and in addtion to the meeting, features vendor displays, seminars, raffles, and auctions, followed by an evening banquet.
One weekend each fall WTA sponsors an annual hunt where members camp and hunt adjacent public lands.  Comaraderie around the campfire and good food are as popular as the hunting at this event.
Summertime features the WTA Championship Shoot, at which participants qualify on Saturday for shoot off which is held on Sunday.  The shoot off is a head to head single elimination tournament style and offers a unique and exciting format.  Many members camp for the weekend and vendors displays are popular at this event.  The location changes every year to rotate among different clubs throughout the State.
If you are looking to find others who share your traditonal archery passion, WTA membership is for you!
