Green YAG for knapping?

Hello,
Have any of you all heard, seen, or tried knapping YAG?
YAG is yttrium aluminum garnet.
It is a crystal used for simulated gemstones.
I have no idea how to knapp...or how to tell if the material works.
I do know it can fracture to edges that put any razor to shame...but I don't think that necessarily means it's knappable.

Sure looks like it will knap but there is really only one way to find out. You have an outlet for this material?  Cheap outlet?  lol

If its truly a garnet, it likely won't knap since it would have a crystal lattice with preferred cleavage planes and wouldn't likely have conchoidal fracture.

I spoke with the OP. It is a man made material. I haven't heard back from him in awhile. I was going to get some from him and try it. He is only about 30 miles from me.

Maybe there are seconds or scraps to be had. That would make a pretty point if it is knappable.
