Directions:

TBOF currently holds two shoots per year at the Ocala Conservation Center, 7325 NE 170th St., Silver Springs, FL.  The state Championship Shoot is always the first full weekend in March.  The Fall Rendezvous is in mid to late August depending on the schedule of summer camp at the conservation center.

From the West: Take S.R. 40 from I-75 and head east through downtown Ocala, through Silver Springs and across the Oklawaha Bridge. The next major intersection will be C.R. 314 at Nuby’s Corner. Turn left and head approximately nine miles to the shoot site. A large, orange TBOF sign will be on the road.  

From the East: Take S.R. 40 to Forest Corners. Turn right on C.R. 314A. Head north and this road will connect to C.R. 314. Turn right and head several miles to the shoot site.  

A third shoot is held towards the end of January.  This Charity shoot is a one day event that benefits Boggy Creek Camp for Kids and other youth archery causes. This shoot is held at The Canyons Zipline location near Ocala.

Camping

Camping is free at the shoot site for the March and August events. Primitive and generator camping are available. Flush toilets and hot showers are available.

The Ocala Conservation Center has a no dog, no gun policy. Please do not bring firearms onto the shoot site.  

If you travel with your companion animal, we offer these options:

You may camp on the shoot site and board your pet off site. A dog boarding facility is located on S.R. 40 near the shoot site. Contact “Heads and Tails” at 352. 625. 4114

The Wilderness RV Park and Estates is located on the east side of the Ockwalaha Bridge and offers excellent camping facilities for $25.00 per night and will take pets for an additional $1.00 per night. AAA, Good Sams and Passport discounts are available.

Lodging

There are a limited number of cabins on site that offer air-conditioning and can sleep 6-10 people depending on the unit. These cabins are available on  a first come, first serve basis.

Bunkhouses are available at the shoot site. Per camp rules, these bunkhouses are single sex only and can be rented for $10.00 per night.

Motels are available in nearby Silver Springs.

Food

Several food vendors attend TBOF events. Depending on the vendor, breakfast, lunch and dinners are available.

Silver Springs offers a variety of dining options: Sonny’s Bar-b-que, Fat Boys’ Bar-b-que, Denny’s, Bob Evans, Bennigan’s, Dairy Queen, McDonald’s, Burger King and a number of local non-chain establishments.

Roger’s Bar-b-que is the closest restaurant and is located just east of the S.R. 40/ C.R. 314 intersections.

Shopping

Groceries are available in Silver Springs at: Publix, Winn Dixie and the Super Wal-Mart.  

Several shopping centers are to found along S.R. 40 in Ocala and Silver Springs.

I remember these shoots coming along when I worked there... I can't remember the dates though. Can you let me know when the next "get together" is?
