Pictures of the Vitals on African Game

<< < (2/2)

8th Dwarf:
There is also a really good book on the subject, along with a pocket guide that you can take into a blind with you.  I don't know the name of it, but we have copies in camp at Greater Kuduland Safaris.

VERY important to see this stuff.  Lots of differences among species and lots of differences from American game.  I recommend a lot of study before one goes over to hunt.

Steve M:
There is also a pocket guide issue of the "Perfect Shot" avialable.

Wile E. Coyote:
Another handy pocket-sized guide (smaller than the pocket sized Perfect Shot) can be obtained thru africasbowhunter.com  Pretty much the same anatomy and info (average size, habits, tips for judging trophy size) but I like the smaller size.

Wile E. Coyote:
Sorry, the add was in Africa's Bowhunter mag but there is no link on their web. You can get the guide thru  http://www.african-hunter.com  website. Interesting that they also have a book totally dedicated to shot placement on Impala with 120 photos! With the info on the string jump thread I doubt even that many shot placement recommendations would help. LOL

Tom Lagatol:
If anyone's interrested Cabelas sells the pocket guide(African game) and N.American Big Game shot placement. Mine just came yesterday in the mail. TomL
