The Bowyer's Bench / Re: Halogen light fixtures
« Last post by Buggs on Today at 03:49:27 PM »
  I bought a couple of these low budget halogen puck lights for my spray booth to help keep it warm in there. I installed a couple 75 watt G-8 halgen bulbs in them, and they didn't last 3 hours before i had a serious melt down....

I mean.... It's a good thing i didn't leave them on over night , or i could have had a fire on my hands. These little 75 watt G-8 bulbs get HOT!   And.... i'm ok with hot. It's why i bought them was for heat.

Not surprised! Those pucks usually have between 15-25w bulbs. 75w, even in a metal puck housing would get too hot. I guessing yours were plastic? Did you leave the lens on them?

I like the homemade fixture :thumbsup: Hope you are not using those G-8's while spraying, those pin connectors are not sealed from the atmosphere.

Very cool. Did you use same bow and arrow set up’s for all them?
.    Same ole longbow I built 22 year’s ago, but I’m always changing up the arrows, the last harvest was with a 755 grain grizzly Stix , pretty impressed.

Reflecting back on the original question, your sandpaper might not be the optimum one for gummy woods.
You did not mention what you are using? The best no load paper is going to be a stearated silicon carbide. And as far as grit is concerned, lots of opinions. Here is some factual information;

We have a tree stand law here but no one follows it so that’s my reasons. No one removes them or tags them with there info like your supposed too.

Cameras just bug me on public.

Thats a good idea for sure, any attempt to maintain consistency is worthwhile. Do you still check thickness from end to end on the individual glass pieces?

For sure! That's the main reason ive been wearing the gopro, shot analysis and learning.

Hindsight, i probably should've stopped her. I wanted to take the shot earlier in the encounter but she kinda snuck up on me and i was not prepared until she started to quarter away.
