Heading West
« on: August 29, 2018, 03:41:09 PM »
I'm headed to Colorado elk hunting Saturday.  I'm hoping my knee holds up.  Anyone else doing trips this fall?

Good luck Tod.

No major trips for me.  Back got much worse after getting home from Chad's place and it's just getting to about 85% good now, so I hope by duck opener I'll be "back" in shape.

Colorado was very dry and fires burning in the Steamboat/Kremling area.  All the normal water holes were dry.  75 and sunny for two week didn't help out.  We saw half the normal numbers we would normally see.  One guy didn't see any at all for the two weeks.  Still had fun!

Nice job Chad. Did you ever have any luck with the bears? Tough year with all of the natural food in the woods.

The bait got cleaned up after about four weeks but at that point I was unable to continue baiting.  Now I have to wait another 4-5 years.  LOL
