DMM:
Is there a book anyone would recommend for those of us just starting to get into this hobby?

Jeremy:
I found this site to have lots of good info:   KnifeNetwork

Others will recommend the $50 Knife Shop, but I haven't read that one.  You can go to the   American Bladesmith Society  site and click on Bladesmith links.  Lots of them have how-to sections as well.

Lin Rhea:
Check out Knife World Magazine and look at their books. Ask Mark Zaleski to sign you up for the newsletter. Lin

Butts2,
I tried to PM but your box is full, so here is my reply.

Rick,
I have not seen the second book you mentioned, but if they recommend it, I do too. Another that I have, which is good for beginners, is "Custom Knifemaking" by Tim McCreight. You will learn some basic designs and construction. After you read this book and make a few, certainly not all of them, you can refine the type and design you prefer to make and that work well with your tools. Let me know if I can do anything. Just holler. Lin

Butts2:
Hopefully the journey begins. Just ordered "$50 Knife Workshop" and "How to Make Knifes" Recommended by Lin Rhea and Knife World Mag............................Oh Boy
