Got my "first" longbow!!

I just got my new to me Northern Mist Baraga! I'll post some pics of it later today!

If I had some arrows and it wasn't raining I know where i'd be.    

Now the hard part naming it....

Don't fret.  The sun is just coming out here in Muskegon, so better weather is on the way ;-)

Can't wait to see the bow.  I hope to get my new HH Wesley Special in the mail today too.

Drew, are the arrows working ok or do we need to try some different spined arrows?

The arrows seem to be working good, I just bought a few different spined arrows from Jays to compare them to, and ordered some glue on field tips. It seems to shoot 2117 aluminum good, I don't plan on using those always but they work for now. Let me know when you'd like your arrows back.

I've had my wife watch my form several times while shooting and seem to have that down. Just trying to get comfy with my style and holding the bow.  I think I need a new glove, my old glove that is very worn my be effecting my release at times? At least it feels like it "catches" the string on release...if that makes sense.

Been shooting at least every other night, keeping them on a paper target, and even hitting where I'm aiming at times.  I can't believe how fast the bow is!

Now on a side note, the wife has "mentioned" several times how she would like to shoot and how she liked archery in school.      
I'm in over my head now!

Drew - I had a Northern Mist Superior which is a lot like your bow.  That was the fastest bow I had ever shot, it was a very forgiving bow! Plus the bowyer is as good as they come!

Your not over your head with your wife wanting to shoot, (I know you were kidding).  My wife has been shooting with me for 34 years and she the best hunting partner I ever went hunting with.  Shot her first deer with a long bow last year and I was more excited than she was.  Have fun with your new bow and more important you "new hunting partner"

Northern Mist...I was at Jay's a couple of weeks ago and handled a few of these awesome bows.  I would like to have one not only because the fit and finish is awesome but because it a Michigan made product and this state is hurting enough.  

We as Michiganders need to stick together and spread the $$$ around in our wonderful state.
