What a thrill

Been a great season, shot a mulie buck in Oct. got turkey a little later, but the whitetail doe was giving me fits until Sat night, Got close enough to put a good shot on one right at dusk, I was sure of the shot and knew the big snuffer did its job. went back to get a flashlight then hurried back to look, saw where the deer went earlier so I was just shining my light down in the canyon and eyes showed up, there was a cat on my deer, I,m not saying what it was for sure either a very large bobcat or the other kind we don,t have. It took alot of noise to get him to leave. He ripped the hair off the back of the deer and took a large bite out of the lower neck. I must admit I felt a little undergunned holding my light and buck knife.

Congrats Dan, Yup must have been a bobcat since we don't have those others around here. Met up with one of those bobcats 3 years ago in a cornfield doing a sevice call on a pivot. That bobcat had the longest tail I had ever seen on one. So for now on doing sevice calls it's wrench's check, pliers check, .45 check.

We've got a few of those Bobcats here in our area.
I knew a Bill Lynch from Callaway years ago.

Callaway is a nice town, I was hunting north west of there yesterday, calling varmits, also called in 16 head of deer, one doe wanted to stomp us into the snow. Called in 5 coyotes also, I believe that is also a pastime of Mr Lynch. Walking out of the hills in the dark last night made me glad we still have this peace and freedom to do so.
