Just checked out the TAO calendar on the website. Wrote down all the shoots coming up this Summer. Looks like good list. mostly "the usuals" but they are all fun.

Guys, I just found this from reading another thread. Glad that someone found a place for us Oregonians to sit and swap info.

If weather permits, I am doing a Nutra Rat hunt this Saturday. I'll share pics and story if successful. Hope you experienced folk don't mind a lot of questions as I'm pretty much what my handle says. A Wannabe1.    :D

Do I need to be a member of TAO to post here?

I'm wanting to do that too. There are a few guys here who go for the Nutria. I'll see if I can get any secrets.

Hi guys! So this is where you've been hanging out. Nutria...hmmmm, water rats, the bain of farmers fields, burrowers of banks, the evil yellow toothed critter...   :biglaugh:

As the weather warms they are seen grazing right before sunset and into the night.

"A nutria hunting we will go, nutria hunting we will go, high-ho the merry-o, a nutria hunting we will go....."  man, it's been a long winter if I'm singing about hunting nutria! haha

No TAO membership required.  But it is encouraged   :biglaugh: .

(Seriously, it is a good organization, they are looking out for the interests of Traditional archers and bowhunters her in Oregon, and from my perspective the best part is you get to meet a lot of nice, like-minded people.)

Didn't get to chase the Nutra Rat today. The boss pulled a trump card, went to the coast with her mom and I got the rugrats!

Yesterday would have been the day to go, as the weather was really great.  This morning I thought to myself that I might get a chance to get out, then it started raining about 5 minutes later....

My son-in-law and I joined in on the Green Valley Archer's shoot Sunday afternoon. When we got done we were sitting in my truck with the doors open...68 DEGREES! Beautiful day to shoot in the woods. Then when we came back into town on I-5 it was a little different! When we saw the grey/black wall of weather coming at us we knew we had gotten off the course just in time!

So many shoots and so little time. I hope the gas prices don't shut them down. I'd love to make the LaGrande shoot in June but will have to see what the gas prices will be by then.

Hi Mike, don't know of any down that way. You can contact Dan at Wapiti Archery in the Grants Pass area. He may know of one. (541-659-2984)
