Hey, guys...the participation by Illinois trad hunters and archers on this forum (ILLINOIS - United Bowhunters of Illinois) is simply pitiful compared to other states/regions. By reading the various threads, the average age of the threads seems to be about about 7-10 years old, with an apparent 3 or 4 traditional hunters in Illinois...really? I know there are a lot more of you. Come out from hiding and let's communicate!

I live in Chicago, and am just getting back in to shooting. I am going to try to start hunting later this year, but I probably will be doing it in Michigan. I hear Shabbona State Park is pretty rad. Has anyone been there?

I'd love to meet more traditional shooters in my area though for sure.

My son has hunted at Shabbona. Apparently not such good hunting as they had a severe poaching problem the last several years. Hopefully they've apprehended the perps.
I live just shy of the WI border, so close by you.

I had a pretty good hunting season. I didn't kill anything this year but I saw a few nice bucks. Looking forward to next season!!
How is the hunting up that way?

I missed this season due to a tendon injury. Have been hunting IBSP the last few years (permit only) and have seen a lot of deer and deer activity there.

We are alive, well, and not so pitiful. 

I am from Central Illinois and a life member of the UBI.  We have members all over the state, some or a bit more digitally inclined than others.   The form could be really useful.

I did draw a permit...but for the last week of season (Jan 7-13) *groan*. Hope it's not 20 below like last year.
