So what's the TBM about or do? I went to the meeting in Butte but not much was happening. I did order a new bow though. Just wondering.

Hello Smitty, right now we are working on a definition for what constitutes Traditional Bowhunting to get that into the regulations with the idea of possibly getting some traditional only bowhunts/permits.  Other things are being discussed.  We have a shoot every year which is a good time and different members around the state set up different local things, as an example last year there was a pheasant hunt done by several of the members around Bozeman.  athere was also a rabbit hunt planned but it fell through at the last moment.  Sorry I don't have more for you at the moment as I just got the VP job in Butte.  Mark Baker would be able to give you more info.  Joseph

Hey Joseph,  That sounds like some pretty interesting ideas. I left about 2:oo to get home and missed alot I'm sure. I wish I could have stayed to hear Monty speak. Does TBM have a website?

Hey Smitty...Joseph summed up the highpoints.  The TBM is really just now gearing up and organizing itself into a political organization.  It takes time.   The Butte convention was only our 3rd one, and I think like the last two, a great success.  By the way, you missed one of the best meals I've ever had at any convention anywhere!  

The TBM has been around now for 20 years or more...mostly a fraternal organization that held a shoot or two, and hosted the NALS when it came to MT.   Most of the membership are active members of the MBA as well, and we have a lot of bowhunting political experience in our ranks.   We will be having a shoot this summer at the Robertson ranch in Forest Grove....also, we publish two newsletter each year.   I think in  the future we will have a very viable organization politically, and may even open some eyes nationally....we'll see!

Actually Mark THIS YEAR is our 20th year. We got the thing going at the MBA Convention in 1986 in Butte in Dick Robertson's motel room. We put on  the North American Longbow Safari in in 1990, 1996 and in 2002.

This forum will be great. One less thing we have to figure out how to do on our own.

Joseph, I just joined TBM last month, do they have any truck window decals?  I have a referance to TBM on many signature lines hoping to gain more interest into the TBM.  I live here in Kalispell, and it would be nice to connect with other TBM members around my parts.

Jon, sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  The TBM has a website which Google will show if you spell out TBM. it has the current info, officers, and merchandise that is available.  I am kind of out of the loop for a while with a new daughter and buying a house.  Joseph
