I will be there on Wed. I put in for vacation already.
-
I'm hoping to make it up again this year.
-
I work every other weekend so it should be 50/50 chance of being able to go. But so far it's been 100% that it falls on my work weekend. I have Thursday Friday off so maybe I'll take Saturday off and be up there for two days at least. Have to save vacation for elk hunting after all!
-
where is this going to be?
-
Check Colorado Traditional Archers Society's web-page for info. Best shoot/camp-out in the west.
-
The shoot is north of the Silt/New Castle area. 6 3-D ranges, novelty shoots, vendors, raffles, and a ton of fun. The application form for this years shoot should be out soon in the newsletter and website.
-
Hey has anybody have the info yet on the shoot 8 check out the web page no info yet....

Andrew
-
The check is in the mail. Andrew, if you don't have the info, send me a PM and I can get it to you.

The info is in the May newsletter which should be on the website soon (I hope).

Is it in same spot as last year?
-
David,
Barring any natural disasters or other calamity, it is expected to be in the same place.

I just popped my check in the mail for me and my girlfriend's son. I'm thinking of heading up on Thursday and making a longer weekend of it.
-
Head up Thursday and help set up. You will get a better choice of camp spots and we usually open the courses up to those that helped on thurs evening.
-
How is the snow up there?
-
Went to see Mtn Man Mike today. Connor got himself a starter bow. If he doesn't get a summer job, he'll be at the shoot with us. I'm pretty excited as this is the first year since 2009 that Connor has shown an interest. should be a great shoot!

We will know next week about the snow and which spot the USFS is going to let us use. It will either be where it was last year or a couple miles south at the gravel pit site.
-
I've been to Denton Hills shoot a few times but never this one. Is there vendors and all or is it geared more toward camping and shooting?
-
There are vendors too, bows, gear and stuff.
-
I just saw that the location is at the Lake Park site (same as last year). That is good news as there is a lot of great camping and plenty of room for all of the ranges. I may camp out up there for 10 days like I did last year. Jim
-
Yep, we just heard from the Forest Service and we will be at the same site as last year. There will be plenty of signs.
-
I'm a little slow I guess. I just noticed pre-registration ended a week ago! lol. No worries! I'll be there anyway!
-
Ranges are laid out and tents are up. See you in a couple days.
-
Got word last night that 4 of our 6 tents blew down in yesterday's high winds. One is salvageable. Scrambling to find more tents. Appreciate those coming up early, the help will be needed.
-
Sorry to hear that mark...wish I could be there to help.
I will be up as early as I can on Friday.
-
We made it home ok. I-70 was a bummer as usual. My wife and I had a great time. A lot of shooting. I took 9 arrows with me and brought all 9 arrows back. BONUS. The coarses were fun and challenging. The camping was great. I stocked up on supplies from vendors. Also I got some encouragement to get back into building bows. I had a lot of really nice conversations with fellow archers. Thank you CTAS, what a great archery club.

Hey Britt,
We noticed the posted time on I-70 from Dillon as 2hrs 45 min so we went south on Hwy 9. Made great time. Unfortunately, for you, not really an option unless you want to add a couple of hours to the ride.
Great meeting you and Parshal and the others. A great time was had by all, in our group. Getting ready for next year, already.
