Hi Gang, I think this is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while.
It would seem that I'm un-learning how to shoot a bow. The more I shoot, the worse I get. I'm fairly confident I have target panic in some form or another, and I think it's beyond my own ability to fix.
Last week I made up a few new arrows. I had the girlfriend tap me on the shoulder when I was at full draw, and I'd release the string when she tapped me. The idea was that I wouldn't be able to anticipate the shot (We do this exact thing in classes with students anticipating recoil with handguns.). It seemed to work. I shot ok-ish, but had very consistent bareshaft arrow flight out to 30 yards.
I finished fletching my arrows, took them all out yesterday to shoot, and they fletched arrows looked like hey kicked left. I shot the bare shaft, and it hit the target sidways so bad, it snapped off. On top of that, I can't hit anything.
I'm pretty frustrated at this point. I live in Sandstone (east Central MN), and there's no archery shop near me that I know of, and certainly no one that shoots trad. That's not to say I won't drive a few hours for some instruction, I just don't know where to go.
Thanks for taking the time to read this long and rambling post, any help is very much appreciated.

Welcome. I probably won't be much help but I'll try. Arnie ? (I'm horrible with names) from Grand Rapids is a coach. He has been to MTAR a few times giving help. Someone else will chime in with his name I'm sure. If you can make it plan on coming to MTAR in 2 weeks. Lots of knowledge there to be learned. Good luck.

Arne Moe from Grand Rapids.

Thanks for the reaponses. Sadly I can't make it to MTAR, I've already put in for my leave for the year. Maybe next? I'll shoot out some emails, I might be useful of the had gun day, if people are interested.
Is Arne's shop Itasca Archery Supply? My google-fu is apparently weak...

They have his number and know how to get ahold of him.

Thanks again.

He has a ton of stuff on Utube. Maybe you can find his contact info there.

Staring at a target can give me target panic sometimes so I switch to roving for a while which seems to help. Judos are so great.

Byron Korby , he has/had a shop just east of Willow River and knows more about shooting then anyone I ever met.

Arne Moe usually does free classes at Itasca Archery Supply by Grand Rapids, MN on Saturdays.
You can call Itasca Archery Supply at 218-326-3252 to make sure which Saturday's Arne is at the shop.
He can definitely help cure your shooting woes, no doubt!!
