Bow Rack Suggestions
9 Mile Archer:
From what I have heard, hanging by the string is one of the best ways to store a bow. But I would love to hear the pros and cons. I am as most say a newbie to this game, and Pete you clearly are not; you do all those reviews and everything. Are you asking a rhetorical question or are you wondering yourself? If it is bad, is it different for Long Bows and Recurves?
Pete W:
I am curious. Logic "in my version" says that hanging like this would be the same as standing the bow in the corner. But I realy don't know .
I store mine horizontal.

My wife bought me this. I have 10 bows and a spare set of limbs for the Bear Custom TD. I'm going to make an arrow rack for the rear of it. I think it will look great on the mirrored back.

Pete, you got me thinking. I have heard that standing a LB is not nearly as bad as a recurves. I may make 2 racks, a horizontal RC rack and then a vertical LB string hanger. I don't see how hanging a one or 2 piece LB could hurt it, very little weight and it does "grip" from the top as well as the bottom if you put your finger in the string when you hang it you can feel the squeeze on the top (super unscientific method I know, don’t ever ask me to help with your reviews, I clearly am just a monkey :smileystooges: ) But with the weight of a 3 piece bows and the complexity of the bends and sets in recurves they seem much more vulnerable to long term subtle influences. I am leaning towards 2 racks for sure. Also that means more room for additions!! :bigsmyl:
Oh yeah, beautiful setup and bows Bowbender
